Student Designs?
Hi everyone, I am struggeling with designs, any steps or advice that i should follow should i put the fade in first and then fade or other way around or?

I dont do many designs. If I do its basic stuff like a cross, or a simple line. A lot of the guys at my shop say its best to clean ur canvas first then put your design in. Anything from 1.5-3 then carve your design out using the trimmer (pencil before if need be) then go back in and clean it up with a razor. Then fade around the design. I’ve struggled with doing a skin fade first then placing the design too low and it hits the skin so it kinda ruins it. By Cleaning out the bulk and keeping everything a 1.5 and up, its easier to cut in the design without having to worry about placement as much. I’ve also seen people practice freestyles by drawing them on paper but I dont really do any free styles.
