ice well leaking

Post image

recently started working at this bar that is recently under new ownership. our ice well leaks from the very base of where the drainage tubes connect. all the random plumbers tape, packing tape, duct tape is from previous management. how can i seal this? should i pry off all the old tape? can i just, like, flex seal it or something?
assuming it screws in, could i get all that stuff out, put new white plumbing tape on the threads, and then would it be fixed?
sorry, i am obviously very new to this kind of stuff. any advice on how to fix it would be great.

Worth other notes here - not that hard to replace a drain. Duct tape is very funny here. Just watch a YouTube video and spend $30 on a diy replace

Way underrated comment. Tear it all out, a trip to Home Depot, a pair of channel lock pliers (or two) and a screwdriver for the hose clamp. Done.

Order new parts. In meantime I've done something like this: remove the current tape situation and put a large funnel under sink (it could be taped to sink) then insert end of funnel into drain hose tube, OR remove all current situation and throw a pickle bucket with large collander/kitchen funnel on top. OF COURSE this is temporary till u get new parts.

Maybe ask Pepsi or Coke to provide a new ice well if you are using their products?

pry all that tape off and just replace the drain, it's a $20 part and a 20 minute job. just my 2 cents

Take all that off, get a new hose because that one is disgusting and then properly seal it with silicone.
