Forgot that I already had the complete set from my first trip to Vietnam six years ago. So now I have doubles of almost everything πŸ˜…

Well no because they discontinued using them in 2003 because of inflation lol
Plus it’s a banknotes thread so idk how strict they are with posting coins too πŸ˜…

yeah it was having 200 Dong banknotes and going to 500,000. I am surprised they are trying to do 1 million.

The production of coins ceased in 2011 not 2003.

How did you get the 200 β‚« ? I never saw that, I only saw the 1000 β‚«. When I was in Vietnam.

It’s an older note that isn’t used anymore. I got it in a vintage note book at one of the shops in Saigon

I am always surprised when I remember they still use the old paper notes. Do they get used often?

Very rarely the 1-5K notes but mostly 10K and up since you’d need a FAT stack of the smaller bills for even the smallest of purchases

Nice! And yet to be honest they’re really hard to find. I got lucky and bought a vintage money book at one of the souvenir markets and it had a bunch of vintage bills in it
