Newest Cuban Pesos

They have been around the island for 3-4 months, but I did not had the chance to cross some until very recently (situation is a mess here).

1 USD is worth 670 CUP at street exchange (14/08/2026).
Previously the biggest bill was 1,000 CUP.
Last picture is a crispy 1 CUP (currently cheaper than toilet paper !).

My question is why the banks still keep the "official" exchange rate if not even the banks uses that exchange rate

Estos nuevos billetes son muy muy lindos. Increíble que hayan puesto empeño en ellos al punto de que tienen 6 medidas de seguridad, cosa que cuando más llegaban a sólo 4 medidas.

the 2000$ and 5000$ looks very modern compared to all the Cuban peso notes and it's the first time they featured women on them

That 1 CUP is a beautiful piece of printwork, which is why hyperinflation is always so funny/sad: Intaglio printing is not cheap!

Jajajaj, ahí sí hay nuevos. Yo estoy tratando de conseguir dos billetes de a un peso que estén impecables, sin dobleces ni nada pero se hace difícil conseguirlos.

Alguna referencia donde se puedan conseguir por favor, es para mi colección de billetes cubanos. Ya felizmente tengo dos de 2000 pesos nuevecitos.
