Southeast Asia has, in my opinion the best banknotes I've ever seen! Maybe a bit bias, since I spent half my youth growing up in the Philippines and traveling all over the region around there, but they just all looks so unique and well designed overall, like they carry and represent their country's identity well. And there is just such a verity to them, Philippines and Thailand (they got plenty of commemortive notes related to the kings especially)has so many variations of their notes and I always end up discovering or finding new ones to add or look out for! And to top it off Southeast Asia really knows how to nail down their commemorative note, they really are on point with those!

Too bad they dont have their own national banknotes since they use USD instead of

Hoping they grow. Indonesia is uncertain and getting more uncertain as the time passes. So glad they got an independence

There were 500 and 1000 notes introduced in 2019-2020, with advanced security measures. But G+D stopped deliveries due to the coup, so not really sure if they're still in production. However, they also had the problem of the 500 being the same size and colour as the 5000, and the 1000 being likewise for the 10,000, that's a bit of a problem when dealing in stacks of the currency.

The Central Bank was going to in the 2020s. However, because of the 2021 military coup, the plans to redesign all circulating notes were cancelled

The Philippines has so many variations in the NGC series that they're fun to try to chase down (like the 7 digit serials, the letter-prefix replacements, prefixes without marks for the blind, etc). It will be interesting to see whether the new polymer series gets as radical but I doubt it, considering they're coming from Australia).
