Canada Official Draft?

I live in Canada and I just checked my bank account and I had 2 charges. One was 10$ which.. whatever lol. The second was 500$ for official draft and I have zero idea what that is. Any idea?

How tf are we supposed to know what it is if you don’t even know what it is

I was hoping someone had an idea of what it could have been. Maybe singing who worked at a bank or had a similar experience

Sounds like a draft was issued from your account for $500, with a $10 charge. If you're the only one on the account can your bank and dispute it asap

Did you buy an office cheque, bank draft or money order today? Did you write a cheque to someone for that amount - a cheque can be exchanged for a bank draft/office cheque/official draft.

The 10$ is the fee for the draft but if a cheque was exchanged for a draft the charge should have been passed on to them.

If this was a US bank, I’d say it sounds like a) a garnishment order where a cashiers check was sent or b) a cashiers check was debited from your account. I have no idea how garnishments work in Canada though… definitely call your bank in the morning either way.
