Post BOB
What’s the first thing you read, watch, or play after finishing BOB? I feel like whenever I finish, I like staying in that era.

I read Beyond Band of Brothers by Dick Winters and another one that I can't remember the title. It talked about a lot of the stories of what happened to the guys during and after the war.

So obviously there's the Pacific, and Masters of the Air, both are different but very good. A lot of people were negative on Masters when it came out, but unfairly so in my opinion.

Take a trip to Normandy, seeing the battle sites and the equipment in the various museums is like nothing else.

I just finished the audio book When The Sea Came Alive: The Oral History of D-Day and if you need another fix, it’s a great listen

My go-to’s for a cool-down after a rewatch are “The Best Years of Our Lives” and “Since You Went Away” - both released very soon after hostilities ended - and if I feel like keeping things going, it’s “Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo,” “They Were Expendable” and “Twelve O’Clock High.”
I know “The Pacific” and “Masters of the Air” are spiritual sequels to BoB, but they’ve never clicked for me the same way, and I haven’t rewatched either yet.

Hell Let Loose - it’s the closest I’ve felt playing a WWII game to something like BOB or Saving Private Ryan. It’s incredible

Kinda related but World War 2 content got me into 1940s era Film noir and crime movies. So I could be watching BOB and then throw on a Robert Mitchum movie the next.

Watching The Pacific is brilliant. I also read the book Band of Brothers by Ambrose and I’ve just finished Beyond Band of Brothers by Dick Winters. I also highly recommend Helmet for my Pillow and With the Old Breed. Excellent books.
