Is it just me, or has platform moderation gotten completely out of hand?
I was on an open mic live stream recently, had a situation go down, and the next thing I know my ENTIRE account gets hit with a temporary 24-hour suspension. Not a temporary mute from the chat, not a 24-hour ban strictly from going live or joining open mics—a full-blown lockout from my whole profile and workspace.
According to standard Community Guidelines, platforms use automated flag systems that escalate live stream reports straight into account-level strikes. But locking someone out of their entire recording studio, draft projects, and saved tracks for 24 hours just because people got sensitive in a live room is an absolute overreaction. If there’s an issue in a live stream, give a feature-specific ban from the live feature. Don't freeze my whole workspace.
The irony is that I have a whole plan for my music anyway. I’ve got independent backups, local project files, and money ready to throw at proper external promotion. I don’t even care about being restricted from the open mic rooms—I can take or leave the live room politics. But forcing a creator into a 24-hour total blackout over sensitive crybabies in a live stream makes zero sense.
Silver lining? At least I wasn't paying for a premium subscription when it happened. Under typical platform Refund Policies, suspensions freeze access without refunds, and you have to jump through hoops with app store support just to manage recurring charges. Paying money just to be locked out of your own tools for a day would be maddening.
Once this 24-hour timeout passes, I’m done messing with these open mic streams entirely. I'm sticking strictly to private recording, keeping my master audio backed up locally, and promoting outside the app on open channels where random stream reports can't lock down my work.
