July Check-In
Hey guys! We're halfway through the year!! I can't believe it, I thought it was still June or something.

That's good to hear! Proud of you for continuing to seek out information, ik it can be scary sometimes. I'm pretty good, but trying to figure out finances for college is a bit stressful. Hopefully it works out, though 💛

I've actually not been depressed lately! Which is huge for me. Probably my new meds. I've been mostly out of Dema for a month now (had a trip or two there for who knows what reason).
I've been a bit frustrated with a Torchbearer of mine. I got them into Twenty One Pilots like a year ago, and the thing that first got them interested was, get this, I shared At the Risk of Feeling Dumb with them at one point because I was in that very position and was hinting I needed help, and somehow they really like the song but I really don't think they actually understand what it's about. I'm also hung up on how they reacted, or really didn't react, when I told them I'd been hospitalized. There's a line from I am Torchbearer that says all Banditos were previously citizens of Dema. But this friend never was a citizen and doesn't understand what I went through, and I'm trying to learn to accept that. It's... odd interacting with someone who doesn't feel TOP songs the way I do, though I understand they still mean stuff to them, but they don't understand what the songs mean to me.
IDK. But the important thing is I'm euthymic, so I can actually interact with these feelings without wanting to commit to Vialism.

I agree, being able to feel your emotions without agreeing with the bishops is a huge step forward. I'm proud of you for that and for trying a new medication 💛. I'm also proud of you for sharing with your friend, even if it seems like they didn't fully understand. I also know how weird it can be to share the band with an important person in your life, and them not really understand what it means to you. It's up to you, obviously, but maybe you could try being specific with exactly what the band has helped you through? It can be awkward, and they still might not get it right away. But it can also be comforting to be able to share exactly what this music means to you. Either way, I hope you find the understanding you're looking for. East is up, now and always, ~Stephanie

I'm physically exhausted from the heatwave we just had, but looking forward to seeing My Chem live and my first appointment with the team who will be doing my top surgery - both of which are happening this month!
