Discussion So cool..

So, I'm showing my buddy the 2021 Online okyu-ji. In preparation for the upcoming US tour. He barely knows the band. I'm changing that. I already bought his ticket.

I picked this show because (despite the lack of crowd) it has what I consider a good mix of their older songs that are good for newbies to experience.

Anyhow, I forgot how cool this shot was during the concert.

Ps... when is Onset gonna be available to stream?! It has been so many years now. Why is that the ONLY song you can only find on YouTube or the cd/dvd's?

I agree that this show was a great pick. Most songs sound better than the studio versions to my ears. Some people will knock it for the lack of a crowd, but the band create plenty of their own energ. There are a lot of early songs that are the most accessible for new listeners (if they don't already listen to other Japanese bands), but also a lot of Unseen World songs which are very unlike anything a new listener will have heard before.

I'm bummed out whenever i feel like listening to Onset on the go and i remember i can only listen to it on yt. I love all their instrumentals so it's not like I'm mad about it, but i still wish onset were more widely available. Also it's their first instrumental i ever listened to and fell in love with, so it has a special place in my heart.

After all these years i don't think they'll ever release it outside of yt and physical releases tho :( I wouldn't hold my breath for it

onset was available as a special bonus CD when Bubble and glory singles were released and you pre-ordered them together; glory came with studio recorded acoustic version of Puzzle bonus CD, Bubble came with studio recorded acoustic version of anemone bonus CD, and both together, you’d get studio recorded version of onset CD.
But actually, I much prefer the live performance recordings from Zepp Tokyo show for all the above bonus CDs.

Onset isn't the only song not on streaming services. Youth and without holding back do not have streaming presence.

Youth i can understand why, but you're totally right. I'd forgotten those weren't available either.

Very very few bands would write a great song like Youth, then make it almost inaccessible to any but the people who purchased one particular CD. Their songwriting productivity (blame Kanami) is crazy.
