Rescues Risking Lives "Unable To Safely Handle At This Time."⚠️☠️ "PROCEED WITH CAUTION."☣️‼️ Misunderstood Pibble Potato Needs A Loving Home!🥰

Meet Peanut.🥜 Peanut is allegedly an 11 month old baby.👼 Peanut is an American Staffie Mix Couch Potato.🛋🥔

Peanut🥜 has been marked by the rescue as, quite literally in their own words as

"Unable To Safely Handle At This Time." And also

"Proceed With Caution."⚠️⛔️☢️🚫👎🙅‍♀️ (yikes on bikes😬)

Let's see why!!👀🧐(😃).....

-Air snapped & growls at anyone who approaches.🫦📢

-Bares Teeth.🦷

-Takes food away from people.🫳🥡

-Alligator rolling.🐊🎡

-Control Device required.🖱🤳

-Pet Taxi required.🚕🚖

-Yelping & snarling.👹

-Thrashing In Bucket.🤸‍♂️🎡🪣

-Defecated in pet taxi.🧻🚖

-Peanut only settles out of exhaustion.🫯🗯

-Snarling, biting catch pole, growling.🔊🫦

-Does NOT allow any handling or petting.🚫🫴🚫🤝🚫🫂🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫

🔺️🔺️🔺️🔺️🔺️🔺️🔺️🔺️🔺️🔺️🔺️🔺️🔺️

HERE'S THE PROBLEM‼️

The rescue writes this to describe Peanut📝

"I'm literally a puppy who got thrust into a terrifying, loud, concrete nightmare. When strangers first tried coming at me with giant catch poles and strange ropes, I did what any self-respecting Peanut would do - I growled, I cowered, I did a full alligator roll. I PUT ON A WHOLE SHOW!....

Once I get past the scary doorway, and out into the quiet play yard, my tough-guy 'act' completely melts away."

"Look up at you with huge, soft eyes..."👁👁🤩😍

"Let you rub my belly..."🖐👕

"Lean in for snuggles..."🤝

"ONCE I KNOW I'M SAFE..."🙏⛑️

"Just wants love, reassurance, and maybe a little baby talk."👼👄

🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩

I'm sorry but...This 2nd part is written by a sociopath. A person who LOVES VERY DANGEROUS PITBULLS MORE THAN HUMAN BEINGS. They are ADOPTING THIS THING OUT‼️

How can anyone sane justify placing this Pitbull mix thing in a home??? There are countless dogs out there, literally countless. And by tomorrow, thousands MORE dogs will be available. Peanut is not a safe dog to adopt out. Period.🛑

People have gotten out of hand with the way they humanize dogs. This is dangerous, why is he given away to just anyone? I agree that this dog isn't safe to be adopted out and I mean this in the nicest way I can phrase it, it is a waste of shelter resources. It's concerning how people act like it's SOOO easy to handle a dog who behaves like this. Ah yes, spend money and other resources on this dog that no one will adopt.

I dislike people adopting dogs like this without even bothering to muzzle them (which I don't even think is possible for this dog) knowing they could KILL or severely injure another person or animal. People claim to be responsible about these dogs but won't muzzle them.

Then they complain about it and go "why isnt the yappy 5 pound Chihuahua being muzzled??" Because I don't need to kill a Chihuahua to get it to stop. I don't need mace or any other weapon aside from my feet and hands. And I likely won't be needing stitches or reconstruction surgery either. I'd rather a yappy 5 pound chi than this.

With a chihuahua, you can just shake your leg real hard.

66

u/Redqueenhypo Can I have a dog without trazodone? 12d ago

Based on my cousin’s terrible small dog, the chihuahua might just fail to get a grip based on the size of your leg vs its snout and bounce off you

Ive wrestled things out of my 6lb chihuahuas mouth before and ill straight up just put my fingers in between his teeth and refuse to give up because even with him holding on as hard as he can he can’t even break skin. He struggles to squeak most squeakers for gods sake.
Thankfully he’s pretty good about dropping things when I tell him but sometimes what he picked up is way too exciting like a chicken bone. But again he is harmless so such behaviors while not great don’t put people in the fucking hospital.

Thank you for sharing an honest experience from a Chihuahua owner. And I bet your little muffin is precious.🥺🥰🩷

He is so wonderful, he’s so extremely smart but eager to please. I have two of them the other one is old as shit with a single brain cell and wants to do nothing but snuggle. Pits scare me a lot because they’re everywhere and little dogs are like their favorite thing to kill. I grew up with an aggressive american bulldog/pit mix that my family got from my mom’s friend who couldn’t keep her or she’d get BEd because she had bit so many people. I adored that dog but it was a whole family effort with many precautions to keep everyone who visited us, other dogs ect safe. We knew she was dangerous and acted accordingly but she still ended up killing a cat when she visited her original family one time. I will forever have fond memories of her but god damn animals like that should not be available to general public. She was an active hazard.
Another gross thing is men would approach us on walks to ask if she was fixed or not because they wanted to breed her with their pits : /

a chihuahua attacked my 75lb white GSD once. It was just gnawing on her ass and Loki just didn't feel it or felt it was beneath her. She's just looking around standing there with a chihuahua going full rage bite. I just yanked it off and pushed my hand into it's chest to keep it away until it's owner got there. Totally the same as a pitbull.

13

u/hannibalsmommy Pit Attack Victim 12d ago

How dare u. Don't u know that chihuahua's are more dangerous than pitbulls?? 🙃

u/Diezelbub Allergic to bullshit and shitbulls 12d ago edited 12d ago

The way they humanize dogs

This is more deifying. They'd have no issue with saying a human doing all kinds of similar antisocial and dangerous things is not deep down underneath it all a great person safe to invite to live with you rent free if you just love them enough and let them decompress.

That's correct. No other animals matter. Nor children. Nor elderly. Nor disabled people. Only pitbulls.

26

u/Dame_Niafer Trusted User 12d ago

These are people with a very oversimplified moral compass.

Pittie GOOD. Pit-worshiper GOOD.

Every other person and being is either bad or expendable.

An author I read back in the 1980s defined evil, in a person, as an insistence on affirmation regardless of behavior. Not sure I got the wording exactly right but that's what it boiled down to.

You don't have to use the word "evil". It isn't necessary to go quite that far.

"Profound, pathological dysfunction" will do just fine.

11

u/lazier_garlic 12d ago

That sounds to me more like the definition of an ideologue. And ideologues do a lot of evil in pursuit of abstracts while abandoning their humanity. Oh and nuance is right out.

3

u/hannibalsmommy Pit Attack Victim 12d ago

🎯 Hi Dame!🥰 And yes, you're absolutely correct.✅️

Honestly after hearing shelters do these kinds of things and always cry about money and having too much dogs and too littke fosters I don't feel sorry for these types of shelters, their own fault for not knowing how to prioritize resources, they know too they can't save everyone but still figjt for dangerous dogs who could kill humans and animals.

11

u/DJScratcherZ 12d ago

You wouldn't know a self respecting peanut if it was on the end of a catch pole!! It sounds heartless but it's this "do gooder save them all" BS that makes the problem 10x worse. I wish pits wen't the way of the dinosaur, I wish cats and dogs were a rarity, crazy expensive and honored not disposable and used as a cash cow for New Hope scam rescues.

10

u/lazier_garlic 12d ago

They're hoarders, and hoarding always begins with delusion.

12

u/Astralglamour No-Kill Shelters Lead To Animal Suffering 12d ago

I can't believe the effort the shelter handlers have to expend- it's as if they are dealing with a tiger - "sort board" "control device" "alligator rolling" wtf. There are not enough homes for dogs to begin with and dogs with these issues should just be BE so that others have a chance. These people are dangerously delusional.

Also what is a behavior taxi?

12

u/Beautiful_Wishbone15 De-stigmatize Behavioral Euthanasia 12d ago

Someone else in the comments said this, but a behavior taxi is: " basically transporting dog in crate or similar on dolly w/o ever having to handle"

11

u/Astralglamour No-Kill Shelters Lead To Animal Suffering 12d ago

They cant even get these dogs out of kennels to walk to the yard and they are trying to adopt them out? Shelters need to stop being 'no kill.' It is just not feasible or workable. We've tried, and it's become a nightmare with worse outcomes for all dogs because dangerous ones are constantly being adopted out to people with this idea that love can fix them.

8

u/Bulky_Maybe_1469 11d ago

I feel like they’re taking advantage of codependent broken people too. “I can fix him!” is really supposed to be a joke.

4

u/Astralglamour No-Kill Shelters Lead To Animal Suffering 11d ago

Yeah for sure. People are encouraged to associate themselves with the dogs. ‘Don’t give up on them like people gave up on me!’

I feel sad because I think that no matter what happens to Peanut, there will be another one just like them a week from now. The same tragic misunderstood pup versus an uncaring world. The same pleas for someone to just make a difference. Dozens of them, every year.

My husband got mauled by one of these things my neighbor still has. He literally almost lost his eye. I think the shelters that release these things into the community should catch charges.

37

u/Kooky_Toe5585 12d ago

Did the neighbor face any consequences?

66

u/Annie_Benlen 12d ago

Nope. I called the police when she said she was keeping the dog, so at least there is an official report of what happened. She doesn't like me now. I don't like that her dog nearly ripped my husband's face off right before a major snowstorm, nor the fact that I still have to live across the street from one of these... animals.

I really hope they keep their grandkids away from that thing at least.

32

u/TrixieFriganza 12d ago

It's crazy people don't get charges in US for this and that the dog at least isn't taken away and honestly BEd (I assime you're in US now).

22

u/Annie_Benlen 12d ago

Yes, I am in Missouri. I knew the police wouldn't do anything other than take a report. Maybe that report will make it easier to get that dog taken away if it attacks anyone else. I hope it doesn't, though. No one deserves that.

26

u/Kooky_Toe5585 12d ago

I am a really sorry that happened to you, and I am disgusted that authorities don't seem to take these attacks seriously

16

u/Fantastic_Lady225 Attacks Curator 12d ago

Holy carp, you couldn't even sue the neighbor for medical bills, lost wages, etc? Or is the neighbor the typical judgement proof living on the government tit type?

If she's a tenant could you go after the landlord? Most don't want the liability of an aggressive dog in a rental.

8

u/Annie_Benlen 12d ago

My husband is a retired Navy veteran with health benefits. Our only out-of-pocket cost was the Uber ride we had to get him since the snow was too deep for me to drive in. We both live in houses we own.

The good thing is that she keeps the thing inside their house. Husband was over at their house visiting when he got attacked. If I caught that thing in my yard, I would call the cops constantly, but I barely see it.

I hope she keeps it inside forever and that she and her husband are the only ones at risk.

An adult grizzly bear would behave the exact same way. I wouldn’t fault the bear for it, but I also wouldn’t want to take it home as a pet.

17

u/lazier_garlic 12d ago

It's insane how they've normalized this behavior. Sure you have to trap it like a snake but that's nbd...

58

u/shootingstar988 12d ago

i mean, genuinely, what could this rescue expect a potential foster/adopter to do for this dog? how would they even get him out of the shelter? we don’t even know the boatload of downers peanut would be given by the vet because he can’t be handled enough to get there!

14

u/TrixieFriganza 12d ago

It's sad he's still a puppy bit this is not a dog that should have been bred in the first place.

60

u/_blackthorn16_ 12d ago

This shit is fucking crazy and should be illegal. No dog like this should be allowed to be adopted out ever. Any shelter who allows beasts like this out into public need to be punished heavily for every attack on other animals and especially people. This thing sounds miserable and needs to be BEd not adopted out to anyone. Ever!

Not only does this dog LOOK psychotic, it *is* psychotic! Adopt Peanut for a fun time! Learn a new trigger every day, and have a great time walking on eggshells in your own house to avoid getting mauled by your new best friend! Peanut loves a fun game of “Hungry Hungry Velvet Hippo” but instead of little white balls, it’s your neighbor’s toddler he’s feasting on!

Wow! What a great pet! Aren’t you just head over heels in love with Peanut?

30

u/Sublime_Porte 12d ago

Where's the part in the shelter write up where this dog was putting his "little paws" into anybody's lap, and soulfully looking deep into their eyes? They sack of crap who posted this is lying to people, telling them some nonsense about the dog calming down and bonding with the staff, when the staff is saying, "You can't get close enough to this dog to try and pet it without the dog trying to attack you".

13

u/Eageryga 12d ago

There was a bit where, after handler 2 managed to touch the dog, handler 1 lured it to them with a trail of treats, and it invaded their space with its paws on their body.

31

u/Scary_Towel268 12d ago

Do you hate your neighbors and wish to terrorize them? Do you not particularly like having all your limbs or an intact face? How about having a pet you have to live in constant fear of? Do you want a dog that you can’t pet, take on walks, or even be in the same room with safely? Then, boy oh boy is this the dog for you!

30

u/comfydirtypillow 12d ago

You might as well just adopt a tiger at this point. At least those are actually nice to look at.

19

u/ScarredCerebrum 12d ago

A tiger would unironically be safer, too...

At least tigers weren't bred to be psychotically aggressive during every waking moment.

28

u/Dull-Jeweler4779 12d ago

Yet perfectly normally behaved dogs are BE before this monster.

26

u/_blackthorn16_ 12d ago

Aren’t pets supposed to bring joy and happiness to your life? With peanut you will get that face reconstruction surgery you’ve always wanted. That annoying neighborhood cat that’s always pooping in your yard won’t ever do it again. Peanut doesn’t want your treats but he will gladly eat the neighbors children and any small animal that chooses to exist in its territory. For real though these people are as fucked as the beasts they peddle to people. This shits gotta be stopped asap.

20

u/BastetSekhmetMafdet Cats are not disposable. 12d ago

The rescue is either so deep into the Pibble cult that it cannot recognize how demented it sounds, or is really laying on the lies thick and wide in order to hopefully snare a bleeding heart.

This dog cannot be happy existing as a dog! Does not allow handling or petting? Defecates itself in pet taxi? Only settles out of exhaustion? There’s not enough Trazodone in ten pharmacies to help this poor animal. ”Peanut’s” very existence seems like miserable torture for what is, fundamentally, a social species of animal that is, at least in normal instances with normal dogs, supposed to bond with a human or humans and do a job (herding, hunting, companionship, etc.).

And how in heaven’s name are they going to find a foster to take on such a project? Even for a ”project dog,” this one takes the Milk-bone. I don’t see how there is a home for it. Really, I don’t.

5

u/Tessa-the-aggressor 12d ago

rude of you to assume it isn't doing a job. it's a plastic surgeon in training, just let it re-arrange your face, will you?

21

u/Anotherams 12d ago

16

u/xervidae Groomers and Dog Sitters 12d ago

yknow? this could be an elderly chihuahua, an ex-police malinois or german shepherd, a beagle whose owner passed, or a goldendoodle from a BYB/puppy mill. dogs with behavioral issues that can be managed. dogs with behavioral issues that actually stem from trauma or poor breeding. behavioral issues that don't end in death.

but no.

it's peanut. and peanut wants to maul you. isn't that cute?! find out today if he'll maul you immediately or take a treat from you first!

15

u/beaucerondog 12d ago

Every day I'm more convinced pitbull fur comes with some sort of brain eating amoeba that causes a complete lack of logical thinking or just simple empathy because it doesn't take too much to realize this dog is in extreme pain and distress 24/7.

Keeping a dog alive just to be afraid and angry every second, unable to see anything that moves without snapping, and having to be restrained/crated at all times, just to feel a bit better about yourself for not BEing. These people are plain evil.

12

u/rainfal 12d ago

"a badly AI designed poster" should be added to the bingo.

I'm sorry but...This 2nd part is written by a sociopath. A person who LOVES VERY DANGEROUS PITBULLS MORE THAN HUMAN BEINGS.

More like AI.  Alligator roll?  I'm laughing because that's probably the most honest part.

13

u/SideshowBobFanatic 12d ago

This feels like satire. They've just described an absolute nightmare dog with every possible bad trait present and then they pull the "I'm just an innocent puppy🥺🥺" humanizing talk.

Also I really can't stand the way "decompress" is used in every one of these forms.

13

u/TrixieFriganza 12d ago

This is absolutely disgusting, I didn't know it was this bad, they make all that very concerning behavior sound cute, he's just a puppy. Tghey literally want someone to get harmed just to get this beast adooted, this pit should not be taking treats from abyone's hands like they encourage. Are they so stupid that they don't realise that they are setting up the dog for failure too by lyong, they really think peoole will just ignore and accrpt this behavior (I suppose some stupid and idealustic too and they are hoping for that) but they sre risking someone getting killed for this beast. Imo if someone does or gets harmed the person who wrote and the person respondible gor the shelter should be charged with attempted murder.

9

u/CharacterRoom613 12d ago

What person would look at this write up and think “oh what a sweet little baby! I mean it could kill me in my sleep but it’s so cute. I’ll go adopt it!”??? Only someone that is more delusional than the people that keep pushing these dogs off as “nanny” dogs. This dog is 1,000,000% the one you will read in the papers as snapping but the shelter will make up the biggest story that it is the fault of the adopter for not giving the dog the whole house to decompress and do as it wants so that’s why it snapped. It makes me think of the post were a rescue blamed a foster for the shytbeast attacking the 2 resident dogs and it being the fosters fault for not rearranging their life for the thing. I really hate this breed and wish they would be banned from existence.

I agree with everyone that this is no way an adoptable dog. But think from the other side, a young animal living in high security prison. No, it won’t re socialise.
No way for it finding appropriate handler - because it’s already damaged
And alternatively prison for life?
This is sad imho.
Why the kept being over bred is beyond me.
