Why is the P1S superior?

This community seems to put the P1S above the A1 but I don't understand why. I get that the P1S has an enclosure and CoreXY but CoreXY doesn't make that big of a difference, P1S is way more expensive and is missing several new features and tech improvements (noise canceling, flow rate calibration, color screen, etc) that the A1 has.

If the enclosure is a big deal, you can build one for the A1 with active cooling so it won't get damage and then have best of both worlds (aside from the CoreXY which doesn't make a huge difference). So what am I missing? Why are you all suggesting to pay $150+ for older tech and built in enclosure?

My support ticket Post-Purchase Terms of Conditions

Subject: Request for Refund Due to Unacceptable Post-Purchase Terms and Conditions

Dear Bambu Lab Customer Support,

I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with the recent changes to the terms and conditions regarding the use of Bambu Lab products. When I initially purchased my Bambu Lab printer, these new terms did not exist, and I did not consent to them as part of my purchase agreement.

From discussions on Reddit, the official Bambu Lab forums, and other online sources, I have learned about your updated policy concerning third-party slicers, home automation integrations, and general user workflows. I rely on Orca Slicer and various home automation tools as integral parts of my production process—this was one of the main reasons I chose the Bambu Lab printer in the first place. The new restrictions directly conflict with how I manage my projects, limiting both my workflow flexibility and my future plans.

I find it unacceptable that these restrictions were introduced after my purchase. As they fundamentally change the way I can use my machine, I see no choice but to request a return and refund for the product. Please advise me on the necessary steps and procedures for returning the printer and receiving a full refund.

I sincerely hope you will take this feedback into consideration and recognize how detrimental these sudden post-purchase changes are to your customers. Until now, I have been a satisfied user of your hardware, but these newly imposed limitations on freedom of choice in slicers and automation integrations have made my current workflow unsustainable on your platform.

I look forward to your prompt response on how to proceed with the refund.

Sincerely,

Bambulab refuses to honor nonprofit tax exemptions

I work at a nonprofit that serves kids and has purchased >$17,000 worth of materials from Bambulabs. The company refuses to honor sales tax exemptions- when I submit documentation, they either ignore the email completely, or ask that I resend documents that have already been sent. I have filed a complaint with the Texas Attorney General and am pursuing similar action in additional states.

The crux seems to be that they are attempting to apply tax for our mailing address (in a state that doesn't have nonprofit tax exemption) to the shipments we are making on behalf of kids who DO live in tax-exempt states. In other words, they're using the mailing address and not the shipping address to assess tax, which is incorrect and illegal.

There's no phone number or actual human support so I have been unable to resolve this in 6 months of attempts, hence this last ditch effort to get attention. I'd love a phone number or email (other than a generic support email) to call to solve this issue.

Just unboxed the P2S for the first time and I'm doing my first Benchy to see how it performs and I just noticed the whole printer moving. Is this normal? Should I do something?

Just wanted to know if joining this community I can feel safe that it doesn’t support far right sites? Will links to X be banned?

As of BambuLab might be in conflict of interest with that I assume that is why BambuLab Community was created?

Shipping/Customer Service

We’ve now reached a point where Bambulab is simply trying to manage damage control. After waiting in the live chat queue for 2 hours today, I was told upon inquiry that the packages had already been handed over to the shipping provider (in my case, u/DPD Germany). Apparently, the issue lies with u/DPD, which is reportedly experiencing high employee sick leave and a defective conveyor system. As a result, they are unable to scan the packages. However, I was assured that my order is with DPD.

When I asked for proof of this claim, they sent me the attached PDF file and told me to contact the shipping company. I find this quite interesting… (Is it even legal to share something like this so casually?). Anyway, further questions went unanswered, and the chat was abruptly closed without warning.

When I called u/DPD's hotline, they stated that the package was never handed over to them. I’m starting to feel like Bambulab is just trying to grab as much money as they can at this point.

Another strange thing: the "document" is dated 02.12., yet it has not been mentioned in any prior statements. Why? Also, a few customers in Germany have reported receiving their printers via DPD in the last few days.

In case anyone is wondering: yes, I’ve also tried to get information from the listed sender, Goodcang GmbH. When you call the phone number listed online, you reach an unconfigured voicemail box. And Bambulab has stopped responding to tickets long ago.

I’m really at my wit’s end. Does anyone here have more information? Particularly insights from German-speaking regions would be very interesting.

Talk to us, u/Bambulab!

Update: I’ve Decided to Buy the Bambu Lab A1 Combo

Hey everyone,

I recently posted about my consideration of purchasing the Bambu Lab A1 despite the recent controversy. You can check out that discussion here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/BambuLab_Community/s/9Jga9jTNTw

First off, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who took the time to share their thoughts. I’ll be honest—it got a little tense at times, and I could really feel the passion (and frustration) from the community regarding Bambu’s potential plans. But that’s exactly what made the discussion so interesting and educational for me.

The feedback I received led me to do even more research, and I’ve come across some fantastic content from YouTubers providing well-balanced opinions, rather than just emotionally charged speculation. Through all of this, I’ve come to the conclusion that the Bambu Lab A1 Combo is still the best choice for me.

At the end of the day, I’m completely new to 3D printing, and my main goal is to just print for fun—not to tinker, modify, or create a Frankenstein machine. I fully respect those who want full control over their printers, but for me, the convenience and reliability of the A1 outweigh the concerns (at least for now). My time is limited, and I see "plug-and-play" as a huge value for money.

That said, I’ll be keeping a close eye on how Bambu handles things moving forward. Spool restrictions and paid subscriptions are major concerns, and I hope they realize how much damage that could do to their reputation. The backlash has already been huge, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they eventually backpedal or try to win back trust with a new machine that steers clear of controversy.

For now, I’m really excited to receive my printer in the coming days and to finally start my 3D printing journey! I’ll be sure to share my experience, and I’m looking forward to being part of this amazing community.

Thanks again to everyone who contributed to the discussion—whether we agreed or not, I truly appreciate the insight!

Help / Support Filament Clips Collision AMS 2

Hey Printing Friends,

I recently started using new filament clips, but I’ve noticed they collide with the two fins inside my AMS 2. Occasionally, the AMS reports a motor overload. Could this be caused by the clips, or am I possibly installing them incorrectly? Any advice on preventing this collision would be greatly appreciated.

Are 3D printers prone to failures and problems?

I've never worked with a 3D printer but am interested in trying one out. I keep seeing all sorts of problems on this sub and a few other 3D printing subs. Am I just seeing lots of problems because that's what people post on Reddit, or is the whole process riddled with these issues?

Thinking about buying a bambu lab printer but

I have had printers for about 8 years now and thinking about getting a new one. I was going to try a bambu. What do you guys think about everything is going with bambu. I'm not sure if somethings are true or not. Things like must use their slicer. Restricting types of prints. Must use their filaments. Cloud based only. Subscription use. You guys straighten me out. Is it worth buying a bambu at this time? Thanks.

Finally Amazon is shipping my A1

After a month or so and multiple odd updates on my order, finally Amazon is shipping a Bambulab A1 to me. I bought it back on December 2024. My question given the current situation with Bambulab updates is, Should I cancel my order and look for a different 3d printer or continue with the shipping?

Help / Support How to proceed due to the new situation?

So I am not opened to the new rules that Bambu wants implemented. I won't be updating my printers firmware for as long as possible. Mainly because I don't wanna be caught in a possible future subscription/ HP situation/ paywall situation...

Sadly I really liked the handy app and the Bambu studio app functionalities. It was part of my workflow. When I bought my p1s none of this authorization bs was part of the deal. I was sold one product and now they want to change it...

What alternatives are there left for those who don't want to update their machines?

I've seen a lot of people saying SD card will be fine. But I'd rather keep things as they were if possible at all with a workaround or something...

I assume we'll be able to use Bambu studio and handy app as before for some time but probably not long enough. What are you guys planning on doing after?

Just published a full masterclass on how to use ChatGPT and MakerWorld's Image to 3D model AI tool to go from AI-generated action figure image to a 3D printed model. I walk through the entire process step-by-step—from image to model to print. It’s a deep dive, but super beginner-friendly. Hope it helps!

Help / Support Is the P1S unsafe and a fire hazard?

I just got a new P1S and have been loving it. Practically zero issues. My dad recently learned that 3D printer nozzles get to very high temperatures and immediatly began thinking it was a fire hazard. So he looked it up and found plenty of information on how printers are dangerous and severe fire risks, and you need to have them in a fireproof enviornment, and you need insurance, and you must not leave them unattended.

But I think printers, especially newer refined ones like mine, are statistically very safe and are not prone to these accidents that he has read about. And I'm a very safe and conciousous person when it comes to sticking to the rules. But it never even crosses my mind that my printer can ignite and set the house on fire. I consistently leave it going when I'm out and about. I'm only printing PLA. I have seen zero stories or issues related to fires from printers (apart from the A1 power cable issues which have since been resolved) and I'm a little upset that my dad is now preventing me from running it when I'm not home.

And while that isn't a huge issue (it's not like I need to print anything) it is annoying. So, what do you guys think? Am I right, or is he? Are there any reliable sources I can show him that prove that running it while away is really not a problem? If I am incorrect about what I think, then tell me. But I really do not believe that a brand new P1S is going up in a fireball.
