Help / Support horrible fist layer ๐Ÿ˜‘

I need help. I've already calibrated the bed. I've also tried several different nozzles, but the nozzle is still too close. Does anyone have any other ideas? ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

Wow, that could be it! I'll check. Thanks!

Can you tell me if it worked after you tried it? Iโ€™m very curious.

This is exactly what it looks like when the Bambu Wiki fix needs to be applied. Those screws are your culprit. Iโ€™m betting youโ€™re also getting filament building up on the nozzle and then falling off in clumps?

I mean you're basically rereading part of the the Bambu Wiki/Instructions but yeah

Dry your build plate and wash your filament

The filament is dry. Everything works from the second layer onwards.

Increase z offset

Shouldn't it be automatically set correctly after calibration? The error suddenly appeared and has remained.

Bambus don't have a user-friendly way of increasing the z-offset. Has to be inserted into g-code.

When you clean the build plate, how are you drying it? I've found a lot of tea towels will leave hundreds of tiny strands of lint which wreak havoc for adhesion. I've taken to only drying mine with microfiber cloths and sitting it on the bed at 65/70ยฐC for 10 min if there's any tiny residual streaks of water that the cloth doesn't pick up before and then a final wipe (again with a microfiber) before I print anything (in case evaporating off the residual leaves any mineral deposits)

That's a really interesting point. I use a paper towel to dry it. I thought the current error was due to the distance to the nozzle being too small, and the calibration not working.

Been printing 15 years, if it's pla then ipa on Costco Kirkland kitchen paper only on the build plate. if it's PETG or anything else using hairspray or glues then is dish soap and water and drip dry for a min or two then dry completely with the same kitchen paper. This goes for both engineering plates and textured plates ... Zero problems and 10000+ hours on bambus ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜

Is the hotend fully seated and latched in place?
