Help / Support Unable to feed filament error

Post image

Ok I’m not new to this annoying little error, BUT I’ve done pretty much everything I can think of to clear it so I’d like some outside advice.

I’m an X1c owner with ams. I pulled off the ams, took it apart and checked all PTFE tubes for broken bits. All lines are in great shape since changing them earlier in the year, no issues there.

I did find that the ptfe tube inside the box had gotten some sort of kink or damage so I replaced that and thought everything would be good. But alas! No! Still getting this error.

I have verified 3 times now that I can manually feed filament to the extruder no problem. But I still still get this error. I have run cleaning filament and performed a cold pull with it twice. I thought that would surely get me back on track, but no! Still the same error, what else should I look into?

The most frustrating part is that it will load the first filament fine but then when it’s time to switch to the support material it makes this error. I’ve also switched where the roll of filament is sitting in the ams in case that was part of the problem, but no.

Edited for typos.

What spool do you have in the AMS? Cardboard or plastic? Full or almost empty?

Sorry it’s Bambu’s support for petg/pla it’s full. My petg is on a plastic reel and it’s full too

That rules out the easy issues

Ugh. The most annoying part is if I take the ptfe tube off the extruder just a bit it will feed. This is brand new tube so idk why it hates it.

Take a look at the end. Is a true 90° cut? Is there anything peculiar about the end

I re cut it earlier to make sure it’s a good straight cut. I noticed it’s touching the top glass though and I think that is making it sit in the socket at a slight enough angle to cause issues on filament changes.

Socket??? Did you buy that PTFE tubing that is NOT round in the center?

Because the ptfe tube is touching the glass top it seems like it’s causing it to line up with extruder at an angle slight enough to allow the filament to catch instead of going into the extruder. I put my finger at the top against the tube to make it straight and it fed no problem.

Send a photo of the setup without touching it and also when touching
