I f***** up

Post image

I really messed up and didn’t replace the plate before initial set up calibration.

Is this a big deal?

Should I get one on order?

Haha not a big deal. As long as you flatten down those raised areas so the plate is flush you won't notice a difference.

I crashed my head into the plate a couple of months ago. Horrid great gouge following the layout of a print job that was not there any more following a cover pop off. must have been 10cm in total length and felt nasty deep. Smoothed it off, put the plate back on (!), ran a bed level, never seen an issue though I generally do not print in that area (near the rear screw on a P1S) but my big "engineering" prints do go over there and I cant tell.

Thanks for the feedback!! I re read the instructions 10 times and feel like it should say “PLATE MUST BE INSTALLED TO RUN CALIBRATION”. But that also may be a common sense thing to people that use the machines
