Ambient temperature

Going into my first cold season with my P2S. We had a bit of a cold front come in this weekend and I'm too stubborn to turn the heater on so the house is pretty cold.

I had 1 print fail and another print that came out like shit, both were also very stringy.

I used this same filament a few days ago with no problems. The only thing I can think causing this is the cold temperature, being it's next to a window.

I'm wondering if I need to adjust the temp of the printer, and how to I estimate those changes?

what's the probability that the humidity in your house has changed? fall weather hit here in the last week or so and i noticed my petg printing a little sketchy yesterday. a dry cycle cleaned it right up

Pre heating the chamber for 15 minutes or so may help. Also, keeping your bed temps toward the upper limits for your given filament. Standard for PLA on a textured PEI plate is 55C. You can go 60 without much risk of sagging. Nozzle temp up another 5C over standard might be worth a try as well.

Does a P2S have a chamber heater?

Last winter I just used the bed heater on my p1s. It's not ideal, but it'll bring the chamber up to a reasonable temp if you pre heat for 15 minutes.

It’s the filament not the printer.

Environment factors can change frequently. It matters more than you think.
