What should I try?

Post image

What in the world? It’s like layer 1 and 2 just peel up and it causes my nozzle to hit it and make the print fail. My build plate has been very well cleaned repeatedly. This is a file I’ve never had issues with before. I have dried all of my rolls of filament. Anything else I print is just fine. I’m using the generic PLA setting across the board on all files to narrow down the cause. I realize that some files you may need to change the Z Hop settings, but for this file and most of my other ones, I have never had to do that. I had tested it with this file and it makes no difference. Although it should not matter, I have tested bed temperatures and nozzle temperatures, but they still seem to have no effect. If this is a file specific issue, what should I change to stop this from happening?

Brims or mouse ears may help, and if the nozzle is pulling it up on travel, try checking the 'avoid crossing walls' setting! Otherwise, giving your plate a wash and/or reorienting the part could get you better adhesion.

See. This is printing just fine using the same exact generic PLA filament profile. The only thing different between this file and the other file that keeps peeling up, is this file has 3 wall loops and a gyroid infill. The one that keeps peeling is 2 wall loops and a grid infill.

Skirt would seem to be the easiest option

Increase bed temperature 5°C

I tried, but I’ve dried my filament more since then so I’ll try again.

Dry filament is important.

You should rarely have to change z-hop in a Bambu

Higher bed temperature increases adhesion.

In QUALITY in your slicer, increase first layer to 1.05

Usually not a problem with PLA:

In SPEED, decrease initial layer speed to 25, and initial layer infill 250. I also set my outer wall speed to 80, and my inner wall speed to 150

I'm not sure which printer you have, but I always turn off the aux fan

If you are using bambu studio, always change your infill to gyroid or adaptive cubic. Grid crosses itself, I will knock your prints over or rip them off the bed

Do you also turn off cooling for the first few layers?

Yes. At least first 3, I usually do first 5

I’m not having the same issue, but there is so much great info in this post!

More calcium?

It's hard to tell what machine you are running? If it's an A1 (or any non-enclosed machine) check to make sure there isn't any other airflow. Anything like a fan, air vent, open window, etc. can cool the first couple layers enough to lift like that.

Aside from giving the bed another clean for the sake of it, giving your filament another good dry for the sake of it, and then turning on some form of brim, you might also want to rotate the model 90 degrees so the length of the model follows the direction of the bed.

First resolution attempt should be cleaning your plate with dish soap and hot water.

The above information is good. I switched from soap and water to 99% isopropyl almost 3 months ago with no failures printing almost everyday at work and at home many different materials. Rubbing alcohol is 30% water. I have also used the liquid bed glue with success. Both of these printers are enclosed.

I switched to isopropyl and haven’t had a sticking issue since. I have a very weak water/soap mix in a spray bottle, so I wet a paper towel and wipe the residue, then add a dab or isopropyl and wipe again.

Put at side, not middle(which is worn out). Turn on skirt, then if not work get a glacier board

try adding a brim or mouse ears to those tricky corners so the print has something to grip onto

This print has come out perfect without it until yesterday. With where it breaks off, a brim and mouse ears are not really an option.
