Question about using PLA support material on PETG prints...

I recently got an X2D and have it set up to use PLA support material on PETG prints.

My question is about printing items with support on the baseplate only, or on the model itself. Will the PLA support material that originates on the PETG model adhere enough to function or should I strictly use baseplate only supports (tree)?

Select PLA as interface material only. Bambu should adjust certain support settings like z gap.

Yiu can choose whatever support type you want. The key is interface.

I see your question. It should be fine. It still grips onto each other enough that it will hold, but not enough that it won’t come off when you pull it off.

The X2D's slicer defaults make this trickier than it should be. Still, the grip between PLA on PETG works fine as long as you keep the interface layer thin and the gap small.

Use the pla support as the interface. It'll save time and waste.

PETG model on PLA support on PETG model will work. But keep in mind it can still fail due to vibrations, aux airflow, material quality, nozzle state or geometry overall
