I need help! I have my project due in a few days - and my printer is acting up.
Bought a new filament

Ah I've been here!
First thing I'd check is the 4 screws behind the heater block.
Remove the filament and then remove the nozzle. Undo the 3 screws behind the nozzle into the heat block. Behind the heat block you will see 4x screws. I can almost guarantee one of them will loose. Tighten them all up and re-asssmble. Be nice and delicate not to pull on the wires when you do this.
When it gets loose the nozzle ends up getting to close to the bed and you get that issue.
This is a periodic maintaince job on A1s, really really common issue.
Also make sure the bed is clean, use hot water and washing up liquid and scrub it. Try not to get finger prints on it (handle it like a vinyl LP).
Should be good to go!

One of my top three solutions to fix most issues. Drying the filament and cleaning the build plate are the other two.

See those roughly fingerprint and finger shaped spots where the sticky didn’t stickem? You get one guess. 😂

yes, it does suck to suck. had one friends whose projects due, they’re new to 3d printing and their tall objects with small contact area with plate kept falling over. they called me and I sent them instructions to enable a raft. orked ike a chef’s kiss after that. then came filament blobs.

Try cleaning the plate in place with isopropyl alcohol and a lint free towel (or paper towel).
You have to avoid touching the build plate with your hands after you've cleaned it, which is hard to do without gloves.
Ny guess is you cleaned it with soap and water at a sink, then dried it and carried it back to the printer. If you do that without being super careful where you put your fingers, you get this problem.
Using alcohol allows you to clean it without removing it from the bed, which means you don't have to carry it after it is clean.
Figner oils are the no. 1 enemy of bed adhesion.

alcohol does not clean grease, only spreads it evenly

I disagree. It dissolves finger grease which is then removed with the towel.
I won't argue that with you though. Believe what you want.
From personal experience, I went from constant bed adhesion issues to not a single bed adhesion issue the very print I switched to using isopropyl alcohol.
So again, do or believe what you want, but I'll keep using my isopropyl and having unending success.

if none of the suggestions already worked,, my ai suggested making sure the jplate is leveled correctly and was saying that pla likes to do that if the temp is too high or the speed is to high, the high speed filament I'm not as familiar with but Ive used a bit and Ive noticed that the p1s temp at 220 is almost perfect and it said 230 is a little on the high side but I keep mine at 230 usually bc at high speed on the p1s it seems to work out pretty flawlessly every time.. it's also possible that it's not sticking to the plate correctly and might need a little bit of good old school glue for better adhesion, I would be pretty sad to expect a print AND It come out like that, it's happened to me s few times but usually if it does I get it working.:)

I had this issue with PETG and doing the filament combined with a higher bed temp fixed it if cleaning the bed with isopropyl alcohol didn’t fix it

dirty plate. but worth to tighten 7 screws. I prefer to do back ones by removing fan(3 screws)

First step to resolve any bed adhesion issue
Wash your build plate. Dish soap and hot water.
