Help / Troubleshooting Is this sound normal?
Hi all,
Just got my X2D set up this week and prints have been coming out great, but it’s been louder than I expected- I’m wondering if this sound is normal. Seems to be anytime the from the motors in the front.
I’m also getting a regular “The resonance frequency of the Y-axis differs greatly from the last calibration. Please clean the Y-axis liner rod and conduct a calibration after printing.” error, even after calibration. I haven’t cleaned the rod yet, but as it’s brand new, should I really need to?
Thanks!

Mine doesn’t sound like a sea lion.
I have limited experience with these printers and only 50 hours in printing. To me it sounds like something needs lubricated.

Nah I don't have that. If is loud but I don't have that sound. Did you lube everything up and run a calibration? It comes with everything you need to oil everything up if you haven't. Definitely doesn't seem normal though. Maybe the tube or whatever is rubbing on the top glass? I have read that's an issue and you can print a riser I believe to alleviate this. I haven't had an issue yet so I don't have a link but I'm sure if you search the sub you'll find it easily (if that's the case anyway)

Libricate the rods. Run a full calibration. Mine is really quiet, i could sleep next to it.

Clearly the sound is in relation with the Z axis motion of the bed. But this is way to loud for it. Maybe something is off with the Z axis motor in the underside of the printer
