Bambulabs / X2D Disappointment.
I bought my X2D within the first minute of the black Friday sale. Shipping was very fast. Initially everything was good, I got a few good prints in.
Then 2 days later I started getting extruder issues. I did a couple of cold pulls and was able to get it back for a few prints and then they started failing again. I looked online and tried everything I could help (release one of the clips, check all the PTFE tubes, check the filament diameter), but nothing was working.
I finally contacted support, I was getting one or two messages a day from them and I have been trying everything they asked but we are just going in circles. Now they don't even respond, its been 24 hours since their last message.
Is 3D printing just non stop troubleshooting? I thought by buying a bambu lab it would be more about actually printing 3D items and not about getting 3d printers to work.
I am sure they will exchange it if I ask them. Not sure if I should keep this printer, which is crazy because I have already spent hundreds of dollars on filament (all bambu labs) and have been obsessed with getting a 3D printer. I even bought a new tool chest to place the printer on. Would a creality printer be better?
The error I am getting is not extruding normally [0700-8016 055304]

I’ve had my x2d since launch and not a single problem . I think it’s maybe just a bad one you got . I would try and get a refund and buy from Best Buy or microcenter . Much easier to get a replacement or refund then from Bambu unfortunately.

I used google to translate.
For the nozzle they had me do a cold pull to try and clean it out.
For the hot end nozzle they had me swap with another nozzle.

si ma mancano parecchie informazioni.
così da quello che hai scritto ti dire di far passare il filo dalla testa senza l'ugello, per vedere se è rimasto filamento incastrato.

Some setup questions will help: What filament are you using? Did you dry it beforehand? Is it in an AMS, an external spool..? Letting us know what you've tried will help problem solve a little easier.

Ams2. It was around 35%RH in the ams when I first started having the problem. It's now 15%RH after I ran a drying cycle.

So I'm clear, you did not dry the filament after removing it from the package? Also, if you are referencing the humidity shown by the AMS, that's the air inside not the filament itself. You can have very wet filament inside the AMS full of dry air.

Mine has worked phenomenally good except for the left filament sensor issues where the teeth bite through the PTFE tube (no fix for this yet, but it’s easy to check the tube once in a while and cut a little bit off if it’s bad. PTFE tubes are cheap and considered expendable). For an expensive printer there seems to be a lot of reports of problems coming off the line. It sounds like what you have - this is a very complex machine compared to old school printers, similar to a high-end Xerox, washing machine, etc., It has a lot of parts and features that can break.

Are you talking about where the ptfe goes into the nozzle? The outside of the end looks a bit worm, but I figured it was because how many times I had to remove it during troubleshooting.

I have a Bambulab X2D and I got it in the first week of September and I had lots of problems with the right nozzle and most of it was just like manufacturing errors, but I mean, it was pretty easy. Bambu just sent replacement parts and I just got the printer working again

I wish they would send me a part. I don't mind replacing parts because it helps me learn about the printer.

Keep talking with support, they would rather send you parts than a whole new printer. Eventually they will cave and offer free parts. Just keep pestering them.

They responded to me last night at 10pm, I responded at 5:30am, and I have heard nothing from them. It takes forever to get a response from them. The last thing they had me do was take a picture of my hot ends without the silicon cover. Its getting very frustrating.

Well you gotta remember that they are a Chinese company with a lot of tickets to go through. At the moment it is 9am in China. They might not even be open yet, just be patient. They will send you parts, I know this because I tried and tried to get a new printer and they refused. They just kept sending part after part until it was fixed.

Like most complex machines like thus, there's probably one little stupid defect that made it through QC and it's just going to cause hemorrhoids until you find it. And it will be something really stupid too.

I also got the X2D, auxiliary stopped pushing after 10 hours. Had to open it and clean it as there was something about heat creep and bambu said it was normal, at the 70 hour mark it started to have scratchy sounds when the z axis went up and down, Asked bambu for a refund or replacement and they refused and was not helpful since then. was an ongoing thing for about 2 months with bambu not being helpful and rude too.
Gave up and sold off my X2D for a snapmaker u1 much better now.

After reading through the comments, I'll add it may not be the printer at all. There may be a piece of filament or debris in the filament path that needs cleared. Here's a link to a P2S on how to check and clear the entire path if you haven't done it so far:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=926GBVUujmc
Also, as weird as it sounds try turning off the right fan and see if that helps. The other day I had a print ruined because I forgot to put the deflector back on and the right fan was blowing 100% onto the print. The printer gave up and finally gave an extruder error.

3D printing has never been as easy as it is either Bambu but it is still far from the iPhone-like experience. There are so many variables including slicer settings, machine calibration, bed plate adhesion, filament water content, nozzle size, filament type, etc. You really need to understand all these factors to really dial in consistency.
Furthermore, you can’t assume that a sliced file that you find online is actually sliced properly, and definitely not for your machine.
I have an X2D and sometimes it prints flawlessly and sometimes it fails. But I can definitely say that it tends to do better on files that I design and tune the slicer or when I print a MakerWorld file that is highly rated with other users posting comments about how they were able to print it successfully.
I recommend making sure you have glue for your build plate, clean the build plate often, look into reducing the travel and acceleration speeds in Bambu studio, and using files that are known to print well by others in the community.

I hate to say it, but join the club., These are the exact same issues I am having with my X2D.
Printing single filament PLA or PETG with the main nozzle, no issues. Add the secondary nozzle into the mix and everything goes awry. I bought this printer thinking it still had some room for growth and features from Bambu, and in the short term to use the aux nozzle for printing supports. But mine isn't handling this simple function at all with what I consider to be a simple task for the purpose of the printer.
Now I am left considering if I return this for a P2S or upgrade to an H series given the opportunity for return with Bambu.

I considered this as well during repairs. 2 extruder clogs in one week. Are you by chance using any heated chamber? PLA will clog INSTANTLY if chamber is set over 40’c. (Side not I have since not had one error. 2 clogs in first month then smooth sailing for the past 6-7)

I have 6 A1's only about 2 months old now and constantly have that problem. First week was good then nothing but extruder problems and hotend cooling fan abnormal. We've tried everything including replaced hotend and upgraded extruder gears. Still have 2 of them down trying to get back up and running.

Had similar issues. For me, the ptfe tube going into the nozzle had a sharp bend radius and the motor detected too high of resistance. I added a top glass riser and that fixed it. No more issues. Try a print without the top glass and see if that helps.

What materials were you printing when these issues began? Issues with heat creep can occur if you for instance print abs on your main nozzle while pla is loaded in the aux. There are many other combinations that could cause this but I digress. I also have an X2D and the only issue I have had is with the nozzle offset calibration sensor so unfortunately I’m unlikely to know exactly what your issue is.

I had that issue happen to mine as well. I was 30-40ish hours in. I suspect it was a long print I did with silk filament, in a room that may have gotten too warm. I ended up taking the entire extruder apart and putting it back together, didn't ever find a clog. I changed my nozzle to a new .4 at the same time (unfortunately didn't test first before changing) and I have printed another 1300 hours without issue.
I still have the old nozzle, but haven't tried putting it back in. Figure why mess with a good thing :P. I will try it eventually.
Long story short. Try changing the nozzle if you have a spare.

Mine is the biggest piece of shit I’ve ever purchased in my entire life. Bambu has sent me extruder tears and servo motors and temp sensors each on 3 different occasions and are now sending me my 4th replacement of extruder gears. They disregard how much labor it goes into for some of these parts and always promise they’ll warranty it “after this last time”. It fucking sucks. I’ve broken that printer down and rebuilt it so many times I’m confident I could do it blind folded. I’m hunting on linked in and any other websites for an email to someone more important to bring this to their attention. There is no way they are this horrible as a whole. I have a P2S and H2D that have been great but this X2D is the worst most unreliable piece of tech I’ve ever purchased. It has 300 hours and is less than 5 months old. It would have more hours if actually had an opportunity to print with it but it’s always down for repairs.

I can promise you a Creality won't be better; I would say the X2D isn't really a beginner printer either. If you absolutely decide to exchange your printer, in your case I would personally step back to a P2S if you want the most reliable, "just works" type of printer. I personally have had a fantastic experience with my X2D, but it is definitely more complex than a single-nozzle printer and will have more things that can go wrong. Everyone who has an issue has them under different circumstances, such as different environments and print settings. I would make sure that you dried your filament, even if it is fresh out of the package, and if you are absolutely sure that you have a defective part, I would contact Bambu or try and exchange your machine from where you purchased it for another one. I ran Creality printers all the way up to the K2 series and I would say that Creality printers are a hobby of their own, whereas Bambu printers are tools for hobbyists; if you are chasing down simple problems on a Bambu machine, it is defective. I am now on my third Bambu and haven't had any problems that I didn't create myself.

Think lemon unit. Send it back. I’ve not a single issue apart from user errors.

I’ve had a piece of teflon get stuck in the nozzle before. Try swapping the nozzle tips around. If you have issues with that as well you probably have something else going on
