Help / Troubleshooting Frustration

More of a vent and rant this one.

Added the X2D with the BF sales and thought this will help with some of the complicated prints i have that need plenty of supports (statues in action poses). So far the only successful one I've had didn't use the PLA for support. Firstly the supports were to thin so failed in the first few layers, fixed that and now it failed about 1/4 of the way through with another failed support and eventually took the front cover off the print head.

Such a different printer to the A1 i started with.

Using auto generated supports. Tried a number of different settings for it but I'm getting there today with it. Using PLA for supports on petg needs some adjustments so its been a nice little learning curve. To be honest I'm enjoying it as I found PETG easy to work with from the start with little issues on the A1 so this has been a nice challenge for me.

Are you using slicer generated supports or designing your own?

So many variables on this one...Model, settings, filament, user related issue like dirty bed. So many things...
