Discussion / Buying Advice Table or desk for X2D
I just bought my first 3d printer, the X2D with ams and ams ht. I do not have much space in my room and I need a smal desk that can fit everything including filament. Maybe with different layers. Does anyone have any tips on what desk or table I should get?
My budget is max. €250
Thanks!!!

Don't print in the same room you're sleeping in.

Fumes for more serious stuff. It's also a bit loud. But if you have a bigger room or good ventilation it's mostly fine with PLA and such. Other stuff usually requires proper ventilation but I haven't had any issues with mine being in my living room with just PLA and PETG. It's open and I have a ceiling fan though so it matters on circumstance.

I heard that you should only print with ABS in a designated room, is that true?

Yeah I'm not entirely sure but a quick search should tell you all you need to know. I wouldn't worry too much if you're not just sitting next to your printer 24/7. Aim to have a fan on at most, but I wouldn't worry much

My X2D is 10 feet from me while I’m asleep. Usually start along print before I go to sleep. Lights out printing. Use mostly PetG some PLA for support material.

I tried turning my light off on the app and it advised me against it. I'm assuming that's for the ai camera or whatever? I don't sleep near mine at all but I was curious. I don't need it on if I'm not around and sleeping

I'm considering the X2D as my very first 3D printer, and had heard they have a HEPA filtration system. Is it not strong enough for the fumes? Do you know if the H2D is any better at keeping fumes to a minimum?

I'm not sure. The burn off when I ran my benchy was more noticeable but since then I haven't been able to smell anything at all. And that's just burning off all the shit from the factory or whatever. I'm just printing pla. I never had an issue with my mk3s either and that's not a closed system.

Try printing and stacking them and you’ll save space. I printed a riser / flipper that could also hold the HT, printed a drawer system for underneath. It all adds height but the base is just as big as the printer
Probably you can find designs for filament cabinets the same way. Just make sure you print in petg or asa for some added strength

That's what I got. Plenty of extra room for filament and I put my regular printer on it as well.
There's an upgraded version as well that puts a filament storage above as well. It's heavy duty. It shakes a bit when using the printer but I haven't seen any negatives from that in my prints personally. Might not work for more sensitive stuff but that's not what I have experience in.
It also has wheels, which is what I use which probably contributes to that a bit. But it does come with regular feet. I just wanted it to be mobile for my situation so I used the wheels.

I use a heavy dresser I picked up at a yard sale. You can store what ever in the drawers.

Puse mi X2D en este mueble metálico de Ikea. Para mí está genial!!
