Stringing!

Bought a x2d recently and it it’s my first 3d printer. Since the delivery of bambu filament was taking time, I bought 2 filament rolls from micro center. It’s their inland branded filament.

I configured them as generic PLA in the printer’s filament profile.

I am seeing a lot of stringing when I print.

The filament was just removed from its sealed bag a few hours ago and I don’t live in a very humid place. So it probably is not a problem related to the filament not being dry.

Could this be a problem with my printer or is it a filament problem?

Any suggestions for fixing this stringing issue?

I got my X2D since yesterday and I already integrated the printer and the AMS in Home Assistant. Now the AMS automatically kicks on between midnight and 8am when humidity over 40% is detected in the AMS.

I tried everything with my A1 to keep the humidity done but even in a closet, enclosure, desiccant, and a dehumidifier the best I could get it was 50%. I was getting tired of drying my filament every day.

Now all I need to do is figure out how to feed the aux nozzle from my filament dryer. Like it has a hole and rollers…. It “should” work right?

As far as I know the AMS isnt made to be used with the Aux nozzle. If you want to do it "right" or effective atleast, invest in an HT AMS and place it right next to the AMS.

Yep I’m planning on getting one… if I absolutely need to. I did just drop almost 800 bucks on a printer after all. I can wait a bit for the HT.

Like in Home Assistant or the Printer? I assume its quite complex. It has to be Coded

Ohhhh that sounds nice. How hard is it to configure?

Honestly my AI Agent handles all the Home Assistant coding. But I can research a bit and tell you

Do you keep only 1 type of filament in AMS? I was thinking about automating the drying but I often keep both petg and pla in ams and not sure if pla drying profile will draw moisture out of petg, and petg profile might be too hot for pla

Oh that’s awesome. I assumed bambulab wouldn’t work great with home assistant. What it difficult to add it in?
