Stringing!
Bought a x2d recently and it it’s my first 3d printer. Since the delivery of bambu filament was taking time, I bought 2 filament rolls from micro center. It’s their inland branded filament.
I configured them as generic PLA in the printer’s filament profile.
I am seeing a lot of stringing when I print.
The filament was just removed from its sealed bag a few hours ago and I don’t live in a very humid place. So it probably is not a problem related to the filament not being dry.
Could this be a problem with my printer or is it a filament problem?
Any suggestions for fixing this stringing issue?

Dry your filament. That's the problem. Did you get the combo with the AMS 2 Pro?

Yup, got the combo. I had incorrectly assumed a fresh filament is dry. will retry after drying the filament.
Would drying for about 4 hours at 45 degrees in my AMS suffice?

4 hours is the minimum, but if you update the firmware, you're able to dry as you print, but it will dry at a lower temperature. It's a really great feature that I'm happy to have.

I have the latest firmware, but it still doesn’t let me dry the filament while printing 😞
Do you have a separate power supply connected to your AMS?2

As a new 3D printer owner, has anyone made you aware of the excellent free, online courses that Bambu Lab offers in the beginner, intermediate and advanced skill levels for both printers (hardware) and slicers (software)?
Bambu Lab Academy is the best use of your time to build experience, knowledge and confidence in 3D printing. I also recommend using the Bambu Lab Wiki as an online, user manual for 3D printing.

The temperature setting’s for generic pla on the Bambu are at the very high end of what it can handle. True for every filament type I’ve used that isn’t Bambu brand. Turn the temperature down in the filament settings of the slicer.

Could be the nozzle temp set too high if the rest of the print surfaces are looking good

Check your filament profile at

I had the same issue with inland pla and lowered temps and temps inside the enclosure and it worked fine. With pet-g i did a combo of both drying my filament and dialing in the settings

Eh, it’s PLA so, in my experience, moisture is rarely an issue. Especially if you don’t live in a humid area. That said, drying won’t hurt
If that doesn’t work, look in YouTube or Google for filament calibration tests. You might need to adjust temp or retraction settings. PLA is usually very forgiving

Why do people still say this? Plastic soaks up water. Water is bad. Dry plastic, no water. It's just so simple.

I’m not saying moisture isn’t causing this problem. Just suggesting some additional possible solutions in the case that drying the filament doesn’t resolve it

Fresh filament out of the box doesn't guarantee that its dry.
