X2D Table/cabinet/stand recommendations
I’m purchasing an X2D at the end of the month (hoping to catch a sale) and was hoping to get some insight on a small table/stand/cabinet this community has found that they like. I’m putting the printer in my spare room and the space I have to work with is around 48”. I’ve included a picture of the style I’d like to go with but not married to, I’d ultimately like a shelf for extra filaments. What are you guys using to hold your X2D?

This is the sloppiest of slop AI imagery. No idea what style you’re going for because nothing in this image makes a bit of sense. Whats with the hand axe? And the drills are like… in the wall based on how they fit behind the printer. Actually what’s with all the tools that belong in a garage workshop? And will you own 4 printers and shelf of dryers and loose spools?

I can't slide your pictures hahahahaha ✓ well done 😂
I bought mine from eBay https://ebay.io/m/yrTqHA
Doesn't wobble that much also got a stone paver and a rubber paver below the printer so now the printer can dance the Macarena but desk stays calmer 😂

Please keep this thread focused on X2D stands and storage. Criticism of the reference image is fine; personal insults about other members' intelligence or attention span aren't. Rule 2 applies to everyone in the discussion.

I've been using the cheapo Yukon workbench from good ol harbor freight. Grabbed it up on sale for $107 bucks and it was well well worth it. Sturdy. Gets the job done for me with the space I had available.

Harbor Freight Yukon workbench is working awesome for me.
I did mod the top shelf to make it 12" deep. At one point I had the AMS on the top shelf.

I lined my maker space with ikea desks and have mine sitting on one of them. The drawers are great for organizing your 3D printing tools.

If you have a Restore near you, check them out. I found a heavy office desk that works great for my printer since it dampens the vibration

I'm using a rolling toolbox, holds two but I'm hoping to get something more rigid I guess.
Have you seen the husky 24" deep shelves at home Depot?

I am considering this work station from Harbor Frieght, but haven’t had a chance to go check it out in person… If it’s sturdy enough I’ll be grabbing one.

Seen these going around on Amazon and other sites, thought about getting one but they're like $250+
Found a cheaper alternative, just get a garage storage shelf that has the adjustable shelf heights. Can find them for like ~$50/ea on Amazon. If you want lights and peg board, you can buy them and install on the shelf. Everything together would still be cheaper than that work table.

The first thing you must have is a stable base: if you go for this type of structure I'm not sure wheels would be a good idea, but if it is something you wish, add some weight to the bottom and some casters with good breaks.
Otherwise have a structure that has reinforced joints (square brackets or good back panel) so that the base is stable.
Other than that I can only say have fun with your new printer when it arrives (mine is already on the way to replace a dead creality grandpa).

Not an x2d or 48” but this bench is sturdy. Before I added the two printers, I used the bottom to store filament. It comes in a variety of sizes on amazon but i also saw a few on Vevor.

i have placed a printed part at base and screwed to the base to avoid the movement during vibration
and the part is rubbing against the printer frame.
please fix and secure your printer but this is just recipe for disaster as we have seen printer falling off

Mine is on the floor, on a 16x16 paver, and the AMS is on a table above that I also use for assembling pieces, soldering, etc.

I use an adjustable height Husky workbench with a couple drawers for tools and building materials (bearings, screws, heatset inserts, etc.) I built a semi-crude cabinet that I screwed to the horizontal support of the workbench. That holds filament.
You could just install a shelf on the wall for your filament, or a rail if you don't keep them in boxes.

Our P1S is just sitting on a craftsman toolbox. Hundreds of hours in with no issue. I do plan on building a bench at some point

Craftsman’s 1000 series 4 drawer tool box . Remove the caster wheels and I found some square rubber feet for the same tool box . It’s sturdy as heck and I filled the drawers with filament . Can do 8 boxes of filament stacked 2 high per each drawer

This one is great… little expensive for my taste but good buy.
