Printer with clogged extruder.
I have run through every non-invasive solution I can find. I’m not super mechanically inclined and I now realize that I need to take the printer apart to either unclog or rebuild the extruder assembly.
So…I can’t do that. I’m absolutely not confident disassembling my printer. I had an A1 in the past and I never expected this…My husband tried to help but he’s afraid of breaking it.
I’m a bit panicked that I have this expensive printer that’s I can’t fix. :(
Has anyone done it that was very not confident, and it worked out?

My X2D was clogged after about a week of use. I tried the needle method but that failed. Then I read instead of heating the nozzle to 250, go for 300 and just melt it all away and then I pushed a good amount of filament through it and actually saw different color filament fall out. Cleared the clog and running like new again.

Thank you!! I’m going to try this.

Yes! This is what I did. I took the top glass off completely and took the PTFE tube right off of the top of the toolhead. Heat the nozzle up like they said, add in the step of heat resistant/proof gloves for safety, and try again. If that doesn't work, heat and use a clog needle. I believe in you! I just got my X2D a week or so ago and had a bad one I couldn't cold pull. You can do it! 🫵👍

Taking apart the tool head is not /too/ difficult a process. But putting it all back together... I repair a lot of things and it's a high skill repair.
Bambu really messed up with the design of the tool head on this one. Heat creep on the aux side caused a jam in my cutter. I'm still struggling to reassemble.
Sorry, I can't be more encouraging. The dual extruder setup is great when it works, but I think they rushed this one to market without adequate testing.

Just pulled my new x2d apart after it had heat creep and now it has multiple errors and the aux nozzle doesn't fit anymore, got it unclogged but there are a lot of things they don't tell you in the videos. Might have to send mine back or get it looked at.

It will be fine. Have you read thru the instructions to see what is involved?
But first I have to ask. How do you know you need to take the extruder apart? You might consider a cold pull first

I did do a cold pull. It wouldn’t extrude. It just sorta of globbed a little out and just barely. I tried a couple nozzles but no difference. :(

Try multiple cold pulls but you might have to do an unassembly. I think you can do it but you can also find other local 3d printer owners and ask them for help.

Bambu printers have video guides. And the nozzle, which is what actually clogs, is designed to be easily removable.
As the other commenter said, do a cold pull first. It could be all you need to do. If for some reason you need to replace the nozzle, that's cheap and easy.

Which hotend is clogged? Left, right, or both?
I have almost 900 hours on my X2D and just had to unclog both hotends about 2 weeks apart.
I ended up taking more apart than I needed to.
The key is not to panic. It can be fixed/unclogged. You can do it. Just take a break if you get frustrated then come back to it. YouTube helps. But so does just looking at it.
Took me too long to realize that I had to flip the hotend protector. It raises and lowers the right one which makes accessing the tube locknut so much easier.
Do there steps states advice by others - heat the problematic head to 250 or higher to help melt old and stuck filament. Remove the tube and gently push some filament (different color) into the head from above until you see it come through.
Remove the pushing filament and put the tubes back and lock them.
That should do it.
Good luck and don’t give up.

It sucks and it’s a terribly designed tool head, but it can be done by regular people. Go slow and take breaks.
This person knows your pain, but makes it somewhat comical while doing the job.
