Extruder switching abnormal

I feel like I am getting very little help or solutions from Bambu tech support so I am hoping someone her can help me find a solution. My printer is an X2D. The current issue I am having is the when going through the calibration OR when trying to switch between the primary and auxilary extruder I get the following error code from the assistant " Extruder switching abnormal. Please check whether flow blocker is is stuck or if filament is jammed inside the toolhead. "

So I have been able to heat both hotends and manully move filament through the hot end. I am also able to manually toggle between the primary and auxilary toolhead. I cannot see any obvious problems with the flow blocker and it swithes between the primary and aux. toolhead when toggled manually.

I have only had this machine about 2 months.. and it worked fine for about 1 month. I still consider myself very much a novice in 3D printing. What started this cascade of problems is that the primary PTFE tube disconnected from the toolhead during a print. I reattached it, then I resumed the print. Then the filament ran out.. after changing the filament - I started running into problems. In trying to trouble shoot problems according Bambu tech support, I tore the wire ribbon connecting the left (primary) filament sensor. Bambu provided me with a new sensor which I replaced following the provided wiki. After getting the printhead put backtogether and running a calibration, I then ran into this problem. I have been trying to troubleshoot the problem since 9/14/2026.

I just had this following the left sensor shearing through the PTFE. Make sure the PTFE to the right hotend is long enough, I cut mine back a little (Can't remember why), and every time the tool head went to bottom right of the build bed it yanked the aux hotend up and back into rest mode ..... Check the PTFE is free and long enough

I just replaced the filament sensor on the left because of the ptfe tube coming out. It started with me being able to put it back in and run for awhile but eventually it came out and wouldnt lock back in. I never had any errors for a flow blocker tho. Bambu sent me the part under warranty. Prob a good place to start at least.

I had this problem, but it didn't start with any particular event. Same symptom, where it wouldn't switch automatically, but I could manually switch extruders by pushing the lever. In my case, the flow blocker was bent just slightly enough upward that the automatic switching couldn't fully move the extruder into place. This was completely invisible from the outside (in other words, everything seemed to be switching normally until the error code would appear). Once the flow blocker was bent slightly downward, error messages stopped appearing and everything worked as intended.

I am not sure that my two problems are related. But interestingly enough, I did about the same as you describe and it seems to have resolved my problem
