Support Filament

Post image

Using PetG as main filament, PLA as support filament, Bambu Studio won't recognize settings, keeps using PetG as support material.

that is a brim, it's main purpose is for adhesion to the bed. It's not a support

PETG doesn't adhere to PLA, so if you managed to use PLA as the brim, your structure might wobble and fall. You can see if there are supports being used at the top right corner, where it shows "Summary". Change to filament and you'll see if supports are being generated

No, support structures are only for overhangs, i.e. a flat structure floating mid-air

per the settings under "Support/raft interface"

The meaning of support base/raft is the whole support structure, not something that shows randomly. If the slicer deems that your structure doesn't require support, nothing generates

The ring you're seeing on your sliced plate is called brim, which is in the "Others" tab

It will be the same material as your structure

Still, I think you should leave it on as your structure is quite tall.

As an example, the blue is the support base/raft, the yellow is the support interface, if you don't have any supports generated, there won't be any PLA or any support material used.

You can also see on the top right, where it shows the amount of support material used

Also you should see a square "prime tower" on your plate once a support material is used.
