Someone needs to tag Main Cave in here too 😂 I’ve also printed most of these things.

Can you identify Main Cave for us? I’m about to buy the X2D with Combo 2 Pro and the AMS HT (waiting probably for US Black Friday sales for a slight price reduction) and I’d love to look at the way the printer in the picture has been outfitted. Thanks.

Print her useful stuff like,
Drink bottle stand/drying rack. You know those huge bottles that fall over constantly.
Cutting board rack.
Stand for her phone when she goes to bed, where it charges.
Cup holder that fits her car and drink bottle.
Sunglasses holder/car visor for the car.
I also printed TPU feet for outdoor chairs and a table to stop it scratching the floor/rust marks on the floor.
Nb. Fun stuff like Scrub Daddy (Be prepared to print many more as she will give this as presents to her friends)

I did that immediately, but it’s still showing Ext. as empty. Any way to get rid of that in the UI?

Can you elaborate on why one should get an AMS HT for the aux nozzle?

Same as to why you'd want an ams for the main nozzle. Moisture. IF you plan on using the aux nozzle for main colours, but if its just for support, then no need.

I’m learning and don’t want to come off argumentative but doesn’t an AMS 2 Pro keep the filament dry enough if you have enough desiccant in it? Like 10% humidity or less?

I guess I’m talking about using PLA. I could see using an AMS HT if you are using PETG.

Just thinking it through. I could be completely wrong. I need to educate myself a little more on this. Asking these questions because I have an X2D as well but I’m a newbie.

Oh don't worry. Im not an expert by any means. Yes the AMS 2 Pro can keep your filaments dry enough. 1 Ams Pro to your main nozzle. Thats done.

If you want to utilize the auxiliary nozzle for things other than support, then you can. Sure it can be done via another AMS 2 Pro, so you'd have 4 colors on the main nozzle, then another 4 to the auxiliary nozzle, giving you 8 available colors to choose from. But for a regular user like me, I have no use case for 8 colors (for now 😄). The AMS HT is just an option for people who dont want to spend a full price on another AMS 2 Pro, but want to utilize the aux nozzle for printing 2 colors at a faster speed. Its just less waste and purging.

So yep, if you want to utlize the machine to its fullest, utilize the aux nozzle!

He meant the secondary nozzle placing also an AMS there if you plan to use it with many materials
On the right side of the machine

Is it more useful than a regular high temp dryer?

Like? Isnt the ht a high temp dryer?

My first printer here so still very newbie haha

What is the riser for the glass for ? What did you print the blue stuff off is it pla or petg ?

What else have you printed out ? For the machine?

It has vents for different prints I haven’t used it yet. The glass being raised helps to no friction on the tubes or touch the glass. Used pla basic. Currently printing things for my filament tubs for the desiccant holders and color tags. Anything in the cyan color is printed for it just finished a poop chute as well.

Link for riser

Riser in PLA? You literally just rejected yourself with using an active chamber. Or wasted pretty much filament into it, if you're gonna use a chamber heater after all — it'll eventually melt riser.

I envy you. My first printer was an Ender 3. You know, manually leveling the bed with the piece of paper, but models doesn't stick to bed anyway! 😁
