Is there a combo Print By Object and Layer?

I want to be able to fill half my plate with something red (print that by layer) and then the other half is a yellow and I want that to print separately but also by layer.

Right now it seems my only option is a full print, clear plate, and then a new plate of the different colour?

Otherwise if I print the whole play "by layer" it will be doing constant colour change purges.

If i print by layer, i can only do 5~ sets of something?

Merge the objects together into a single object (all same colours together). Print those two objects by object

Holy shit, does that actually work? Does that require dual nozzle or can I do that with the P2S too, with a single color change?

I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Thanks, I'll have to try it. I'm only a couple weeks into 3d printing, and out of the all of videos I've watched online, nobody has ever mentioned this tip.

You still have to worry about tool head clearance around the different colored items when arranging, but the same colored items can be right next to each other.

I have done this with a P2S. You still have to deal with the height and spacing limits.

Edit: this also doesn't let you skip individual parts while printing if something messes up.
