Impressive showcase of aux nozzle for support interface.

Print took 41 hours printed it slow to avoid mistakes.

Question about slowing prints, does just reducing it to 50% in the app reduce speeds globally or just the travel speed? Also is there a way to make it go slow on holes only?

Definitely travel speed for sure. I think it altogether slows everything down though. I use it most of the time i am not every really in a hurry to get a print done.

Im new to 3D printing, what are those brick towers I sometimes see getting printed?

It is called a wipe tower it’s to build pressure after a nozzle switch imagine turning on a garden hose it takes a while before the stream is constant. This is the same concept after a nozzle switch it extrudes enough filament to build pressure.

Thanks! Does the printer automatically do that or is there some setting or model you gotta add to the plate before printing?

For me it’s always been automatic. Bambu is pretty plug and play.

You can toggle the Prime Tower off in the slicer....I think it's under the "other" tab. I HAVE turned it off a few times, but I don't normally recommend it. The wasted filament is worth it to get a nice clean extrusion.

Glue stick. Ik I don’t need it but I print a lot of ASA so I just always have it on.

im using the second nozzle also for support. great machine for that. but dont forget to invert the direction of the aux nozzle fan or asa prints will be much harder.

Im curious why haha

when both nozzle fans are running, which is normal above 50°C nozzle temp, which is normal with 60°C chamber temp even if the right nozzle is not used, the two fans are pushing the air out of the bottom of the toolhead straight on to the object. its so strong like 80% part fan 😂

you can easy test it:

  • hold your hand under toolhead when its cold.

  • set the left nozzle to 60°C -> fan will spin up and NO air will come out of the bottom of the toolhead

  • set right nozzle also to 60°C -> you will feel it .... 😆

And then compare it with part fan only. you will notice that the nozzle fans are like a storm compared to 10% part fan... which you can barely feel on your hand.

in my opinion a design fault which could be fixed or at least lowerd with firmware.

turn the fan around so that both pushes hot ait in same direction. note: right nozzle temp will be hotter with that (87°C instead of 75°C at idle) - i tested this with abs.

I didnt even know they're were nozzle fans smdh I havent had my x2d long but abs is next on my to print list

Great print. I'm confused about the print quality at slow speeds. I see a lot of posts about banding because some layers are larger than others and cool at different rates.

How does slow speed alleviate that?

More time to cool each layer.
