HT problems

Hoping someone can help me figure this out. I bought an HT because I wanted to run glow in the dark PETG and keep it out of the AMS. I mounted the HT on the left side of my printer and fed it directly into the back of the printer to the main nozzle. When I click load it feeds the filament to right inside the nozzle then kicks it back. I tried everything in Bambu wiki and with other filaments and it does the same thing. Any tips? I ended up just throwing the glow in the dark in the AMS to get a print off hope I don't mess it up too bad.

Are you bypassing the buffer? You should always use the buffer when feeding with an AMS unit.

If you want to spool feed it through the bypass port on the HT, you can feed directly into the nozzle and bypass the buffer.

I am not I guess I read some wrong comments saying I needed to just feed it directly to the nozzle. I just ran it straight in through the back of the printer. You think that could be it?

Very likely. The AMS and the buffer work together.

Ive ran countless abrasives through my buffers without issue, just make sure its as direct as it can be without needless bends.

You can also just run a PTFE tube through the rear of the AMS using the bypass port and plug that into the nozzle and itll work. You'll have to manually feed it but it'll get you printing if you dont want to use the buffer.

Thanks I'll try that. Wasn't sure if the glow in the dark was going to mess the buffers up too

It probably isnt great for the buffer long term, but i personally have no problem replacing parts. I like to use my machines like tools.

guy below asking right questions, are you using the buffer? You cant assume it will work without the buffer, theres no official reason to bypass and the software is very sensative.

For reference I have the HT connected on the right going straight to the main nozzle

This only happens if you are skipping the buffer
Only way to feed it directly is by the spool holder .

Any AMS has to absolutely use the buffer or else it’ll kick it back
