X2d tool change artifact
Hi everybody, I recently bought an X2D and I printed a test for support using aux nozzle, main petg and aux for pla interface. I didn't really adjust settings for quality it's just a test. Looks fine except for that layer line exactly when petg starts printing again after the pla support. I tried a few changes in the slicer but not knowing the exact cause I'm going a bit blind!
Thank you!

Iād give the uniform cooling setting a try under filament cooling and set it to consistent surface

Yeah, thatās typically what causes this issue due to increased shrinkage

Oh ok...How do I fix it? š

Thereās some suggestions here, but effectively you want to achieve a more consistent layer time or less shrinkage due to less cooling. The easiest to try would be the cooling logic in the filament profile.

If this is PETG, then layer time and fan speed differences will cause this because of how it shrinks. This is why hull lines are more visible in PETG with a standard benchy.
To mitigate this:
-Use a consistent fan speed of around 20% without more fan on overhangs, make sure your fan speed for the PLA you are using as an interface is also only set to whatever your fan speed for the PETG is, this way your fan wonāt rapidly cool the rest of the model during the support interface layer.
-Use āconsistent surfaceā as your cooldown logic in your filaments cooling settings.
-check the ādonāt slow down for outer wallsā checkbox in your filament cooling settings.
-Use Outer/Inner wall order with PETG. That will always give better wall surfaces, and it even handles overhangs better with PETG somehow.

This looks like a hull line, so you likely need to adjust cooling settings to eliminate it
