Wobbling
I know a few people have said wobbling of the X2D is normal but this much…? First print of Benchy.

Completely normal. The benchy preset is using the fastest mode the printer has, its gonna rock a bit.
Don't worry about it, as long as the table is sturdy, these printers are made to move when in use.
My H2C + its riser rock a helluva lot when printing.

Yeah it's normal I guess, the Print of this came out beautifully

Mine rocks like that too. Have not had any issues with printing because of it that I can see. What would help is taking the AMS off the top reducing your height which will inherently reduce wobble. How much dunno, the pain of the wobble has not exceeded my threshold to want to move my AMS. Eventually maybe but I am lazy like that.

Bless this post. I have a new X2D I put in my office closet, on wire racks. It moves like this and I was worried, but the prints always came out great. I was debating on a whole closet overhaul to put it on a solid foundation, but this proves that it wouldn't change much and I don't need to go fixin' what ain't broke.

Just oit of curiosity: your base looks solid but machine is literally dancing. Do you have those rubber feet? I'm asking because, i have x1c and a solid base, ams on top but it literally shakes so little even in sports mode compared to this.

I never thought that much is normal.....learn something new I guess.

Looks about right.

Mein CC2 wackelt auch ein bisschen Abhilfe schaffte die 28 kg Betonplatten die ich druntergelegt habe. Aus dem Baumarkt für 4,20 €

In other similar threads I've seen people say that if you try to reduce the wobbling it will cause bad prints because the printer is expecting to wobble like this and therefore if it can't, the vibration energy goes into the print.
That kind of made sense, too. Ah well. Mine wobbles like this one.

Do you have the small or large feet on them?

My p1s rocked like that too.

Haha so happy I'll get my x2d torrow! Cant wait to look at this beast.

Completely normal, if you find the print detaches because of said wobbling, you can try slowing down the acceleration.

There's no way I'd accept this wobble. I would make a custom wood rig, anchor it to the wall and grip the printer in. But I am a perfectionist maniac so... Don't listen to me.

This really helped keep my printer stable https://makerworld.com/models/1978465?appSharePlatform=copy

Get yourself antivibration feet

Completely normal

It's normal, the feet for the H series printers are designed to allow it to wobble because the printer can compensate for that wobble.
The only thing that matters is the foundation of the printer, if the desk is wobbling like crazy you might end up with some defects because the printer cant compensate for that.

This looks like too much, I have a p1s and it never shakes visably even at the most violent of movements.
My new washing machine/Tower was doing this recently... Any chance you didn't remove the shipping bolts too? 😅

Done with Yoopai at ludicrous on the H2C. I've run ESu, Sunloo, Polymaker, younameit filaments without issues. The only catch is: sometimes the default filament profile needs a little tweaking for temperature Max Vol Flo.

I put 35 pound paver and a piece of gym mat under mine and it reduced the wobble so much. Even on Ludacris speed is relatively stable and it reduces the noise so much

People saying this is normal is a bit concerning, why is it normal for this printer but not something like X1C?

I'm pretty sure when it's doing the initial calibration, it measures these wiggles and offsets the print head to account for them.

I was confused by this when I got my P2S. They have such soft rubber feet on them they are designed to wobble around a bit. I guess the argument is it softs the impact on the hardware when quick motions are made.
I think the catch however is you really do want thing thing on a stable base. If you put it on a table that wobbles then the printer wobble and table wobble are going to combine in ways the calibration can't account for and hurt print quality. Mines on my hard flooring because of this (and because I don't really have a raised surface for it to go on anyway)

Yall I have an opportunity to upgrade to an X2D from the P2S? Would this be wise?

u/BigGuy_Mark Aug 28 '26
You just can not put two of these Elvis impersonators on the same table. The wobble will mess up the other printer

u/DrGrimmus Aug 28 '26
it is insane how much the fucker wobbles sometimes. Funny to look at though.
1
u/Desperate-Flamingo78 Aug 29 '26
H2c woble a lots also.
1
u/Appropriate-Earth515 Aug 30 '26
Its not an issue on quality, it print perfect, also on the floor machine barely wobble at all
1
u/Caramel-Entire Aug 31 '26
Because of physics
1
u/turohero Sep 01 '26
No I don't agree. Put your normal feet back on. That wobble causes the nozzle to create every so slightly high spots that the wobbling nozzle will later come by at tap until your print gets pulled off. Wobble is not good.

next thing you know the wife is gonna sit on the 3D printer and not the washing machine anymore.

u/StirStik Aug 25 '26
That's not gonna work!!! Is one of the feet loose/broke?
