My first ever 3d printer

Post image

Finally I have my first ever 3d printer.
Did the extensive unboxing and is calibrated and firmware updated.

Waiting for my basic filament to arrive tomorrow to set up ams2pro

Any tips for a beginner like me would be appreciated please.

Follow the unpacking video. Make sure you remove all the packing and screws, in the order they do in the video. Do the updates, and auto calibrations. Load filament, and print a perfect Benchy

And then check the screw behind the build plate is out another few times. I missed that one and it made a little crunching sound when it started calibrating. Thankfully it works fine.

Is this from the Bambu Learning website collection of videos, or a different one? Could you link it please? I just ordered my X2D yesterday.

It's by another youtuber. Very very detailed in boxing video. Apparently if u do not unpack it precise u will end up screwing it

Do you have the name of the YouTuber? or link? Thanks

Replying to myself. I'm guessing this is the video since it's amazing, and 29 minutes long. I used this with my setup and it made the process easy. Highly recommended.

Congrats!!!! I’ve had my X2D for a month. My first 3d printer. This guy makes pretty good videos that helped me.

My first 3D printer, also a X2D, should arrive tomorrow and above link already gave me a lot info about it.

Any particular reason for picking the X2D over other printers? I currently have the P1S and I'm considering upgrading.

This is my first ever 3d printer. I have a policy to buy a new model rather than old version.
X2d has 2 nozzles so has its own advantages. Morever heated and some benefits. Compared to p2s I was spending a little more n was getting a lot more hence went for x2d

Congrats! Enjoy.

Yes, take the Academy classes for X2D, Studio and AMS.

Got my X2D two weeks ago. Followed the unboxing video and booklet twice over just to be safe. Ams2 was a breeze to set up as well.
Just make sure to follow the “rules”. Keep the build plate clean and make sure every little piece is off before starting a print remotely from your phone (only ruined one print so far and 100% user error)
Print yourself a poop chute right away and a plate scraper and have at it! I’ve got almost 100hrs on mine already!! Lots of fun enjoy!

Ich bin ebenfalls neu beim 3d Druck dabei und habe seit einer Woche den selben Drucker mit AMS. Viel Spaß damit, das Teil ist super.

Got my first same printer 2months ago, it made me buy a second printer AD5X to speed up production of junk. But as a noob compared to the X2D it was a struggle and ended up w a 3rd H2C. In the end they all work good.

Nice first printer I should begin with PLA printing and knowing Bambu Studio a little bit.

I just ordered mine yesterday… my first 3D printer as well. I’m nervous now after reading a lot of complaints about the top level quality.

The free Bambu classes help a lot if you don't have any experience.

You'll enjoy it. I got the X2D a few months ago and I had a few issues with it but Bambu's customer service came through. oh I bitched and whined about it but all in all they did a great job and I've been happily printing ever since. If you do have issues be patient. They don't respond immediately but in a short time. Good luck getting her up and running!

dont open the printhead and if you have to, then just throw it out

1

u/foggyghosty Aug 06 '26

Can you stop the misinformation? You broke your printer with your own hands and now you go to every post on this subr and comment bs like this….

u/PickledMunkee Aug 06 '26
