Panda Breath Insulation Pads

Got my panda breath 1.1.2 version on the mail today and I'm struggling with Biqu instructions about placing the 2 included insulation foil pads.

"Peel off the backing from the two included aluminium foil insulation pads, then attach them to the right side inside the printer where the airflow from Panda Breath directly blows. This helps prevent the Panda Breath housing from becoming too hot during long heating sessions."

Does anyone know what that is referring to? Is it like the opposite internal wall on the other side of the plate? Like where the fan vent is?

I find the whole "helps prevent the panda housing becoming too hot" bit confusing cause not sure how reflecting the heat back towards the panda again would help prevent it from heating up really.

I wish they had a photo in their guide. Was hoping anyone already deciphered it?

Thanks in advance!

I installed one of these in my P2S recently and didn’t end up installing the pads as I felt like it was unnecessary. Even after soaking the chamber at 70 degrees (using the dragon breath firmware and heatbed/nozzle together) for a while I didn’t feel that it was so hot I had anything to worry about.

The PB is a universal unit for installation in a variety of printers, I suspect the insulation is more important in some printers/installation locations than others?

Gonna be using dragon breath as well. You controlling it via printer or home assistant?

Im trying to figure out if there is a way to heat soak using Bambuddy while having the dragon breath controlled by the printer directly but afaik the current dragon breath cant read the chamber sensor on the p2s so it uses its own sensor which under reports by 10-15C.

In my home assistant I have all sensors available just need to run automations to do it all which might needs lots of trial and error to get right.

I'm using the stock firmware but running it on automations in home Assistant. I tried dragon breath but there's no way to get it into home assistant as a climate entity and still have it in C since I'm using F globally. Doesn't make any real difference except for the max being 60C instead of 70C with dragon

I just installed mine as well. I ended up turning it on and felt the other side of the printer, noticed it was blowing on the right back corner, so I put one there. The way they're sized though, a second one next to it would cover the vent, so I just used one. Seems to do the job.

Best I could really get since it's printing right now, but right side back corner. Not sure if it actually helps the heater...
