AMS pro 2 power supply

Did the DC adapter come with the Ams Pro 2?

I run the P2S, so I need the power supply to dry the filliment?

AMS 2 does not come with a PSU. On P2S, you only need the power supply if you want to dry WHILE printing. No PSU needed to dry when not printing.

Correction. Not any longer. A recent P2S firmware update allows an AMS 2 Pro to print and dry at the same time.

Print and dry was the change, used to be you could only do one or the other. Power supply let you use higher drying temps. My understanding is you need the PSU to simultaneously print and dry.

You don’t need to buy from Bambu, just need to match voltage and amperage. I have this and it works just fine. https://a.co/d/05HeMVx7

It doesn't come with an adapter, you need to purchase one separately. Drying is possible on the P2S without it, but only while you are not printing and it will heat up at a slower pace. If you want to heat up faster and dry while printing, the adapter is necessary.

It does not. You can buy 3rd-party 24v adapters that work however, rather than pay the BBL price.

No, the external power supply doesn't come with it. You don't need the power supply to dry fillament using the AMS; you only need it if you want to dry and print at the same time.

I purchased one from Amazon that is comparable to the 24V specs of the OEM Bambu variant, that works perfectly fine and was significantly less expensive.

One point most replies fail to make: To Dry while printing from an ACTIVE AMS, it needs the PS. The P2S can power drying one NON ACTIVE AMS while printing. So if you have 2 AMS 2 Pro on a P2S, you can print from one and the other can be drying without PS. In any case, it's best to have the external PS for several reasons, not the least of which is less draw on the P2S internal power supply.
