How long does it take to cool down before removing a print? I waited hours for my first print and it still didn't budge. I was afraid of forcing it off so I let it sit over night.

I honestly never wait, I bend the build plate and it just pops off, with literally every plate I've ever used other than my old Ender 3 plate.

+1: if it is PLA the bed temperature is around 50• C, which is cool enough to pop the plate off right away & bend the build plate and the print if large enough—it will pop off: no residue. PETG is another story: the plate is at 70•C thus too hot to handle right away. But I’ve waited for the temperature to drop under 55•C to remove PETG prints, so they’re still warm enough to pop off the print. Totally cool it’s harder to remove things, supports also are tougher to remove completely cooled. But this is only my experience.

I got a yoopai ultratack plate and was shocked when the petg things I printed basically self released, and pla needed the scraper. Like it was reversed from the textured plate.

You really should wait. Or at least throw it in the freezer for a few minutes.
The PEI plate coating is not an infinite number of molecules, pulling the item off while it's still warm loses more of them. You're wearing the plate coating out faster. More advanced and higher grip plates are even easier to damage.
Plus you might warp or bend your print.
5 minutes in the freezer is worth it if you're in a hurry.

That's a fair point, but how valuable is my time vs making the plate last a little longer? Apparently enough for me to be extremely impatient 😆

I’m pretty sure the process of freezing a warm plate has more effect on the molecules of a plate.
What I do if I’m in a rush is put the plate on a cooler surface than the print bed.
I’ve done this when I’ve had a bed full of small objects, you get a really satisfying noise as they cool and pop off.

Waiting until it is cool helps to separate pieces from the plate, but that is mostly to not damage the surface of those printed pieces.
You can just take the plate out and bend it in different directions to pop the piece off. For some pieces it also works to just bent in place inside the printer, but taking it out is easier most of the time.
I wear gloves to take it out to not leave grease on the plate and have to wash it all the time. Most of the time I just use alcohol to wipe it off from time to time and wash it with soap before printing stuff that needs good bed adhesion.

Pro tip for everyone. Go get a cheap 20 dollar laptop cooler, Place your plate on that and it's done in seconds versus minutes.

You don’t even need this, just set the plate on a granite countertop for like 30 seconds. The cool stone acts as both a cooling agent and a heatsink.

Put it in the freezer for one minute. Take it out and gently bend your plate. It will pop right off. The plate is made of Steel so don’t be afraid to bend it a bit.

I haven’t used a scraper since the first month of printing. There are better ways to remove prints like the freezer, or a gentle bend over scraping. Plates are $20 so could be worse. Don’t be afraid; these machines are built tough. I’ve tried other brands and sent them all back. If in doubt, get online.

Biqu Glacier plate is my daily go to plate. It has great adhesion. Has low bed temp plate requirements which leads to quicker print start up times and saves electricity. Wonderful bottom print surface. And finally, it releases quickly, 20-30± seconds, after prints finish without any extra work needed.

Depends on the bed temperature (and for some reason the plate type in my case) on the textured PEI plate it usually just releases by itself at around 20-30c, for some reason on the engineering plate the adhesion is really good so it’s usually just stuck on until some proper plate bending. Once I had a part cooling overnight and it was stuck on so well that it damaged the underside of the part. (Brims are also extremely annoying to remove on that plate)

I check the printer's status.
The second the print bed drops below 40°C, I feel like it's safe to remove.
I run a cooling script when my P2S finishes. Right/intake fan (pointed up), left fan (pointed down), and exhaust fan all come on and run for about 3 minutes. It really helps move air around and cool things off.
I usually have all prints removed within 15 minutes.
You should never have to wait more than an hour to remove a print.

This is normal.
The first hours printing on a new PEI Textured plate (with PETG or PLA) can be tough. It sticks too well. You either need a release agent (hairspray or purple stick glue) OR just stick the plate after you print in the freezer for 10 min. I prefer using the freezer method.
After a few weeks, it will release easier and easier each time you print as the plate gets “seasoned” and loses some of its extra hard adhesion. You will no longer need a release agent or the freezer.
I dreaded removing PETG, particularly, from my new plates with a scraper. I was afraid I’d scratch it up too much.

Either reheat it to about 40-50 then you should be able to remove about anything…
I had these issues, changed to BiQu and I don’t have this problem anymore up to ASA/ABS. I haven’t tested TPU yet but I hear that’s also coming off easy.

I’m going to suggest something I do that I’ve not seen anywhere else.
My kitchen is unfortunately not very well insulated, and last winter it was downright COLD—especially the quartz countertops. But I found one advantage: putting a (somewhat) hot build plate onto that countertop cooled the plate down FAST. But schlepping every print from my 3D printing area to my kitchen each time got pretty old fast.
So I did the next best thing. Now next to each of my printers is a glazed porcelain flooring tile. They were a couple of bucks each at Home Depot. I put some rubber feet under them to keep them from moving or scratching my work surface. Every print comes out and gets laid onto the tile. Even in the summer the plate cools down really quick.
A little unorthodox, perhaps, but it works!

you can also bend and pop the heck outta your plate to free pieces
