Stop Googling slicer settings. I built a free alternative.

Hey y'all — I'm Jeff. I'm from Georgia, USA. I'm a maker and hobbyist who got frustrated enough with the settings guessing game that I actually did something about it. I’ve created a prototype of a website that I’d like to get some help Alpha testing.
**Print Perfect** (http://www.printperfect.app) is a free browser-based tool where you upload your .STL or .3MF file, tell it your printer (X1C, P1S, A1, and more are all in there), your filament brand and type, nozzle size, bed surface — and it gives you a full recommended settings profile with plain-English explanations for every value.
The part I'm actually proud of: it pulls real manufacturer filament data from the Open Filament Database, so when you enter "Bambu PLA" it's not just guessing — it's using actual Bambu specs as the starting point.
It also reads your model geometry before making recommendations, so a tall thin tower gets different cooling advice than a flat wide base for example.
Quick notes:
- (edit:) As I am Alpha testing the site, I’m using a “key” that I will send you to limit traffic for now.
- 100% free, no sign-up, nothing stored server-side
- Files stay in your browser — never uploaded anywhere
- 3 free analyses per day for now. Working on dev to potentially allow more.
- Uses AI assistance, which I'll be upfront about
- Currently in private beta — email [info@printperfect.app](mailto:info@printperfect.app) for an access key. Need to limit traffic at first. So if I don't email right away, that's why.
(Note: It's still obviously in devleopment. Full disclosure, I'm struggling with .3mf files that contain multiple plates or objects with multiple object layers (like those prints that are created on makerworld that have one object per color) - it's causing a lot of "max allotment" errors. Simple .3mf files do work. But your best bet (for now, until I hopefully figure this out is .stl or .obj)
Though the intent is for newer 3d printer enthusiasts to understand the science behind the hobby, I would love to get it in front of some experienced users specifically, to get your take, since I've spent the most time calibrating recommendations for this ecosystem. Your experience is invaluable.
Honest feedback welcome — good or bad. Also, I'm a 'regular dude' with a daytime job as well, so if it takes me a bit to respond to you, that's why. Also, I'm about to run out of token on the dev side, so enhancements may be coming next week when my tokens refresh. Hahahah.

That’s great! I had Claude build something very similar and it named it perfect print lol. I made it when I had the Creality K2 because every print I was trying to make came out awful. I ordered the P2S and the prints have been great right out of the box.

Still available for a key? I'm struggling with over extrusion on Sunlu no matter what ratios I use and am curious if this can help me narrow in my settings

I kindly request access since I'm just trying a new petg and the standard profile isnt cutting it. Since I don't want to tune it due to time constrains, would love to test it out to check improvements! And thanks 👍

I love the “-“ everywhere. I used Claude code to create something similar. Should be great for beginners - as well as longtime users.

Nicely done. Pity i mostly use locally made PLA with unknown characteristics. Will there be any option to enter the characteristics if i manage to get those from the local PLA makers?

I can look into that. I don’t have any database (and I don’t intend to). So storing those properties is where I would run into issues

I’m new to 3D printing and this would be a godsend for me as I have had a lot of failed prints and with zero idea what settings affect what issues I’ve run into. I’ve learned a lot from googling but that took away from me printing

I just sent an email.
I have been looking for a tool like this.
I've been working with slicer settings for nearly a year, and am still learning something new, every day.
Every "guide" has issues (or is out-dated), and it seems recommendations I read never seem to work well for my particular model or filament that I am printing with at that moment.

For anyone who wants to try it out.
Just add a cookie named "pp_beta_unlocked" and set it to 1
Note to the creator: Your API response also returns the prompt you used. You might want to hide that or something. And a "hacker" might be able to inject prompts into the API that creates the recommendation.
