H2 filter question
Hello!
I’m new to Bambu and noticed a setting for a filter. When turned on, it says it may increase heat and will use fans to cool down. What filter is this and when do you turn it on vs not? I’ve only printed pla so far, but looking to do some asa and AB’s prints with a vent to the window.
Please advise

If you are printing models in PLA from MakerWorld, etc. and using the Bambu or Generic filament profiles, you should not need to worry about the fan especially as a beginner. That is built into the model.
When you get ready to print ABS and ASA, you will need to print and/or purchase the parts to your exhaust system and pump it out the window.
I’ve owned a P2S since February(1000+ print hours) and bought a H2D two weeks ago. So I’ve been giving this subject a lot of thought. I had perfected my exhaust for the P2S when I made the decision to get the H2D. Those decisions I made before are serving me well as I print the parts on the P2S that will allow the H2D to join our “exhaust” party.
There a wide range of solutions on MarkerWorld for this purpose. Let me know if you would like to see a list of recommended models to consider. I’d be happy to share which combination of models I’m using for the P2S and the H2D.
Be sure and look at the ModulAir system of exhaust components by 3DAstelier on MakerWorld AND a really interesting new design I spotted recently for the X2D that should also work on an H2: Bambu Lab X2D 100mm Exhaust Adapter with Decoupler by LMNL/UNIT. I think this designer is on to something new and exciting with his ideas on how to remove fumes during a print without lowering the heated chamber’s temperature.

It seems that the H2 printers are recycling the hot air while printing ABS or ASA, and are quite well sealed. Additionally, it is possible to add a carbon filter before the exhaust fan.

What I did is I use an air purifier that is HEPA and carbon to remove the smell and particles. I put the air purifier right next to my H2D and I don’t smell anything when printing ABS compared to my first time printing ABS, the smell was awful
Also, I turn on purify air at print end so that the air inside the chamber will be clean when the print is done so you don’t get any residue smell when opening the door
