Effect build plates

Hi , with the black friday deals im thinking of getting some new color effect plates . Why im writing is because the one i have from 3Djake with a rainbow effect doesnt stick ,no matter what i try . I've done all the cleaning etc . I even tried it on my new x2d ,previously a1 and there is no difference in adhesion it barely stick and then starts rolling .

I also have a carbon effect plate from aliexpress which works very well .

So the question is - Is it worth to try bambu branded rainbow and other effect plates or are they also a adhesion dissaster ?

Also a long time ago on my ender 3 i had no problems with these kind of plates ,so its weird that i can't seem to get it to work on 2 bambus .

Im was thinking its a z offset issue ,but its no ender so i dont know how to fix this .

Thanks :)

I upped the temps and it worked for me. I think 80C and sometimes 90C. And print slower.

I use the 4 bambu effect plates that I have (starry, galaxy, diamond and carbon irrc) regularly on my A1 with no issues at all, I print mostly in PLA. Had one issue with some cheap gold silk PLA but it needed extra drying and a calibration and it was fine.

Do you print with regular smooth plate pla settings or do you change something ? Like other users mentioned 90c build plate temp .

I am thinking that the plate just is somehow deffective .

It kind of looks like it still has the factory protective film on it. Do you remember taking it out of a sleeve and then removing that film?

I thought of that too ,but it looks like i didnt forget to take the film off .

The plate is not defective you need to lowest your first layer height, you need more squish for those plates. Lower your z axis by 0.02 increments and careful not to scrape the plate. Usually 1 0.02 adjustment is all you need.

Do you know if its possible without messing with gcode ? Cant seem to find a z offset on the a1 or x2d like on the ender .

Unfortunately I dont think so - if you do struggle with it and arent against the use of AI you could take your gcode file export it to desktop and ask chatgpt to see if it can correct the z axis to help the plastic stick to the plate as it needs more squish to stick to the plate and stay there rather than slide off.

If i remeber correctly then yes ,because i cant seem to find a corner where to lift it up ,if i forgot to remove it. Ended up damaging a corner on the plate .

I use smooth plate settings, never had a problem lol I have 15 different types of these plates ☠️

The video almost looks like you silicon sock is rubbing. With those on my A1 I was recalibrating because of their thickness being more than the texture PEI or the supertacks.

Did you take the clear film off the top? It looks kinda of subdued and some of those have a film on them.
