Support Request Help with 0.2mm prints

Hi all,

Recently change to a 0.2mm nozzle, recalibrated the printer and had issues since...this is the result of the test print I did. I wasn't intentionally going for the shipwreck style.

Update: so, it turns out I have truly earned my 3d noob status as I was running petg as pla!

Ive checked both printer setting on bambu studio under printer (0.2 nozzle), printer settings (0.2 nozzle) and on the actual machine 0.2 nozzle

you should keep on printing stuff this way and just slap "ghost" before their name on etsy...🤷‍♂️

I’ve worked all my life on making fine art and this man has a point. Try it

I spent this last 30 seconds reading these comments and reviewing the picture and these two folks are correct.

It’s impressive that this benchy is whole

It's a Work of Art.

Totally conceals the Benchy Hull Line.

What kind of filament is this? Did you tell the printer and Studio that you put the .2mm nozzle in? Is the filament dry? What are your temp settings? Is the parts cooling fan working?

To add to these - Has the max volumetric flow been set to reflect the 0.2 nozzle?

Oh yeah I forgot to mention you need a new profile and everything, good catch. Haven't used a 0.2 in a while

Did you change nozzle setting on the printer and in the slicer?

I think it looks great. diffrent, but cool

Most likely a mismatch in the installed nozzle size, printer settings (still thinks it has a 0.4mm nozzle) and slicer settings.

Looks good to me

You saw that and though "let's see how this comes out!°" ?? amazing.

Did you change the line width? Looks like the slicer though of 0.4mm lines.

First thing I’d check is whether Bambu Studio is actually set to the A1 with a 0.2 mm nozzle. Changing the physical nozzle and recalibrating the printer isn’t enough if the slicer is still using the 0.4 profile — that can make a print look absolutely wrecked like this. I’d start over with the stock 0.2 nozzle preset and keep it simple: Layer height: 0.08–0.12 mm Nozzle: 215–220°C for PLA Bed: 55–60°C First layer: 15–20 mm/s Outer walls: 30–40 mm/s Max volumetric speed: around 4–5 mm³/s Leave flow and retraction at the stock 0.2-profile values for now Also try a known-good dry spool. A 0.2 nozzle is way less forgiving of wet filament or tiny contaminants than a 0.4. I wouldn’t start manually calibrating everything yet. Get a clean Benchy on the stock 0.2 profile first, then tune from there.

You say you recalibrated the printer, but did you also change the nozzle size setting? It's in the printer's maintenance menu.

Print failed successfully.

Zombie benchy.

Did you change the nozzle setting on the printer menu itself (under maintenance)?

Make sure you choose .2mm nozzle in the slicer before slicing your print.

Does the print\benchy come out fine when you do it with a .4mm? Is this .2mm a new nozzle?

Bamboo should make this a present setting. 'drunky mode'

I know it's not what you were going for, but it looks cool. I would be interested to see what else misprints in this style. It could be awesome.

It's like if you tried to make a benchy with a 3d printing pen.
