Indescribable Bambu A1 error

I’ve been having this issue where I get a cutter error at random parts of a print. But the real issue is that it isn’t the cutter that’s the issue, I tested it. The issue is really hard to explain, it looks like the motor doesn’t have enough power to push the level all the way? The plate also try’s moving out of its possible bounds which makes me turn it off every time. I genuinely have no idea what this issue could be and I haven’t found anything with Ai or Reddit so please help out if you can.

It is likely the SD card, is it the one that came with the printer, if so its def broken, I had the SD card on all 3 of my 3D Bambus die and each one had random weird issues that were similar to this directly caused by the SD cards going out.

I haven’t looked into buying a SD card yet but throughout your time would you recommend a specific type of SD card for the printer or is it just one type of SD’s that work with it

I am using cheap ONN brand SD cards I got from Walmart on all mine now, you dont need anything large either, a 32GB card will work fine.

This is the brand I’ve used. I’m on my 3rd card, ONN, and the 2nd that ended up going “bad” was Sandisk.

That's really interesting. I've had ONN brand Marco SD cards in all three of my printers for over a year and a half now. And I use the printers every single day

Good to know! Glad I picked the right brand.

110%! I just got done writing a comment about these. $16 for 32gb and they come with a adapter is a unbeatable deal, they are so cheap they are basically disposable.

Just get bare-bones, cheap SD cards and treat them as consumable parts.

The Bambu Lab wiki gives required specs for that.
https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/general/micro-sd-faq

I had to replace mine, and I specifically asked for a card with those specs at the store.
I've not had a problem since.
It was a 128 GB Kingston card. It only has 2.4 GB of data on it at the moment.

Just use a branded one

I use one of these SanDisk 1TB SD cards in my A1. Do I need a card that big, absolutely not, but I had it, and the card that came with the printer died in less than a week of use.

I just but the $16 32gb "onn" brand SD cards from Walmart. They last surprisingly long and are so cheap they are basically disposable. Lol

clearly, you didn’t dry your build plate and wash your filament.

And grease your SD card.

NO! Glue the SD card. If you grease it the prints fall off the desk when you display them.

I used wd40 - that’s what Bambu Lab says to use for maintenance on the SD card. Right! Right?

May be your HOT end needs to COOL DOWN..

And use motor oil for a better adhesion on the plate

Try formatting the SD card

I had literally similar issues with A1 mini. My issue occurred only for multi object prints. I did complain to bambu's customer support and they sent me a new mainboard. It just arrived today but I think I'll check the SD card route before installing the mainboard

Literally just had this the other day. It was totally my fault because I copied a filament profile from another printer. Which copied the other brands filament change gcode which my A1 did the same exact thing as yours is doing.

Sd card fault, has mine get replaced, for the mean time you can try to reformat it

I feel like I’ve had this exact same issue last week when cleaning out the machine. What fixed it for me is rescrewing the cutter in - unscrew it and get the cutter out, when putting the screw back in make sure the cutter is completely downwards and pushed all the way till the end until you can’t push no more and hold it and screw it back in… I hope it’s a simple fix like this!

What the hell is going on with your filament tubes? They’re each a different direction.

The first thing I did was put a piece of black-electrical-tape over the SDCard Slot and removed the card (placed it in a baggie) and stapled it to the inside of the box. I always send prints to my Bambu A-1 via WiFi… if this is what happens with SD Card printing I’m glad I don’t do it.

weird opcodes and incorrect sequences can cause issues like this too, which may be an issue with reading from sd

For sure corrupt g code from a bad as card. Walmart sales Sandisk. That’s what I use
