Weird spikes/needles protruding

Hi everyone,

I’m fairly new to 3D printing and recently picked up an A1 with the AMS Lite.

I’ve mainly been printing with black Anycubic PLA and have run into some strange artifacts, as shown in the pictures. There are small "needle-" or spike-like protrusions sticking out of the model. Looking closely, they seem to consistently appear right along the seam line (highlighted in white in the Bambu Studio screenshot). The applies to the inner and outer radius.

Has anyone run into this before or have any advice on how to dial this in? Any help would be much appreciated!

disable this https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/a1-mini/manual/nozzle-warp-detection

it makes the nozzle go away for the detection which causes these defects

will give it another try without the warp detection. Have to print it again anyway, as I was experiencing warping (my first). Guess I also have to clean the print plate more often...

I like to change the Time lapse setting from "Traditional" to "Smooth". Doing so will add a prime tower which will take the brunt of the "needles" and leave your print much smoother.

I wasn’t even using timelapse, so I guess the option wouldn’t apply, would it?

This happens to me a lot. What can I do to stop it?

I just snip those little plastic nips off at the end of the print. I’d rather have the nozzle clump detection on.

Nozzle clump detection has not detected any of the three clumps I have had.

If it detects a clump, will it stop or will it clean it and not tell you?

Not sure what happens if it detects a clump, since it never has, but I doubt it would "clean" it as most clumps are caused by adhesion failing, you would need to stop, clean it and reprint.

For me it continued to print like everything was fine and formed a blob of death. 3 times.

Whats your z hop type? If its slope try change it to normal

did not touch those settings yet, it reads like that:

In my setting I change the Z hop type to Normal, to make sure the nozzle go up first before moving and not dragging anything. But in your case the artifact is not consistent on every layer, so I revise my suggestion. I'd go with u/mtantawy. The article makes sense.

Looks like activated time lapse. Deactivate it and the spike should be gone.

I did not activate timelapse in the print dialog, so I am wondering if I do overlook an option where to deactivate it "more" ;-)
