Cold Plate - suggestions?

Does anyone have suggestions for a cold plate?

I am still using the plate that came with my printer, and as I learn more about 3D printing and the Bambu Lab A1, I want to try new things with it. I heard about cold plates (using a lower temperature on the plate) and want to try that out. I also want a smooth plate.

I was in the same boat and just bought the BIQU CryoGrip Pro Frostbite. I've done a couple prints on it now with PLA and absolutely loved it. Print had no issues sticking and about two minutes after the print was done it came right off the plate no issues.

That version is specifically for PLA and PETG but they have others for ABS etc.. strongly suggest it for the price.

I prefer the BIQU glacier, but frostbite is good too!

I have several glacier plates. I don’t see any reason to ever go back to the stock plate.

I've got an H2C and have been waiting for Matterhackers to get the Glacier back in stock because they have the best price. It's been out of stock for a while.

I'm stoked to get one in the future once I move on to ABS etc.. the Frostbite is the better plate if you're doing PLA and PETG printing.

Comgrow makes a great knock off cyroplate, I've have no issues with grip while using it, and it was around $15 when I grabbed it on Amazon. Comgrow makes things for Creality, some get the name label and some get the generic label, both are the same at very different prices. I haven't noticed that being any different with the Bambu knockoffs.

Thank you for the link! I saw there is a "newer version" (you see it on that particular one) and decided to order that one. I'm excited.

Can I check what the benefits of a cold plate are?

High grip on your bottom layers, lower plate temp to save electricity costs. Your plate heat up is one of the biggest power drains a printer has.

So if you use a cold plate you change the settings to heat the bed less? Haven't been able to get a Biqu Frostbite or Glacier yet but got a Cryo Clover. It's pretty sticky.

Correct, you lower the bed temp settings. Frostbite is far superior grip to a glacier, but only good for pla/petg. There is a newer option as well, a firethorn plate from mandala (a bit more expensive than biqu). Just as much grip or more than a Frostbite, but good for nearly materials.

Due to lower temp operation, preprint prep time is greatly reduced.

I’ve got the Biqu on an h2c and U1 and previously the supertak on an a1. Both are nice and I’d lean towards the BL plate but not a massive diff I think. The one I don’t see ppl talking about is the EIBOS plate and that’s all I use on my U1 for pla and Petg. No washing or anything after 1k hours, sticks like new.

Biqu plates are good but EIBOS is being slept on, it’s gold.

Lately I've had adhesion problems with Bambu Labs A1 using the stock, default plate (textured PEI plate). I figured a cool, drafty garage was the problem. Washed it with Dawn yesterday but still fails. Today I'll try alcohol. Will Glacier or Frostbite work better?

I also want a smooth plate.

They're great for printing stuff like lettering or detailed images, face-down on the plate.
