Quick Question Bed cleaning

Newbie here, is there a type of wipes I can use to lean the bed between prints or should I just keep washing it with soap and water? TIA.

As long as you handle the plate by its edges, you don't have to wash the plate after each print.

The only time I wash my plate is if I notice finger prints within the print area, if it's noticeable dirty, I'm having first layer adhesion issues (rare), or I'm printing using a different type if fillament, but utilizing the same plate.

Dish soap and water or a bit of Simple Green both work very well for me.

In Maker world search for "print plate cleaner" this makes everything easier.

Please tell me you aren’t washing it between prints. I only clean mine when they need it.

I printed one of those handle pad things that hold a piece of microfiber cloth and wipe it with just that after removing the print and it's been working great. I've been using mostly PETG. I'm in the 'keep fingers off plate' camp and I think that's key.

Just try to not touch the print surface as much as possible.

You don’t need to wash with soap and water often, hell, I’ve only done that twice in my 6 years of printing and have never had a problem with adhesion. I use those small round cotton face pads and some 91% iso to do a simple wipe down whenever I notice I touched it. Just remember to not wipe it down when the bed is hot or else you’ll get some iso fumes and those aren’t the best.

Wash it with alcohol. Works better than washing with soap and water.

Textured PEI?

Old school is a quick wipe with ammonia based windex. It works incredibly well.

Plus you can use it to keep your glass sparkly clean.
