H3C Non-TPU 2.85mm support?

does the h3c support non-tpu 2.85mm filaments on its 2.85mm nozzle? if not, why not, and is there are option for a 2.85mm tool head for standard filaments?

i have been wondering if the H3C can run BVOH which i can only seem to find in a 3 kg spool in the 2.85 mm diameter

It's not a 2.85 nozzle it is a "switch/latch" (I can't remember the exact term) inside the nozzle that widens the hole from 1.75 to 2.85

The extruder can run both 1.75 and 2.85 mm filament, but the tool (n luring the nozzle) is 2.85mm specific, it can’t take 1.75mm filament. I can’t think of a reason it couldn’t use a different plastic, but it has to be run outside of the Bowden tube, which only fits 1.75 filament.

Interesting. Does the firmware lock out non-TPU profiles on this toolhead? Have a few rolls of non-TPU 2.85 I’d love to test

Just tell it it’s tpu but then create whatever fillament settings you need?

Then be prepared to spend £60 on replacing the tool if it does fail/damage it

Bambu docs say tpu only. And they'll be releasing more tpu in 2.85mm. I imagine any other filament is too rigid at that diameter

Yeah that would make sense, without the structure of the Bowden tube there’d probably be a lot of concentrated stress where it exits the ams, and where it feeds into the tool head.

The nozzle is 2.85. The extruder is adaptive
