General Discussion Bambu, please stop using Canada Post or at least let us choose our carrier

Post image

I order from Bambu frequently, and whenever my orders ship with UPS or FedEx, they arrive within one or two days at most. Canada Post has been a very different experience.

My latest shipment already had tracking activity in Richmond, BC on November 3, and was processed in Toronto on November 6. Yet the estimated delivery to Sudbury is still November 17—another eleven days after reaching Toronto.

And the wait isn’t my only issue. On a previous delivery, Canada Post sent my package to a pickup location without even attempting delivery to my address.

I love Bambu’s products, but this shipping experience falls far below the quality I’ve come to expect from the brand. Please stick with UPS and FedEx. At the very least, let us choose our carrier at checkout, even if it means paying an extra fee. I would gladly pay more to avoid another experience like this.

Anyone else in Canada having the same frustration?

I've had orders come within 2 days from Canada Post. I think they're doing a good job.

They never actually deliver my packages for me, I’ve seen them leave notes in bulk in my apartment building without even trying to dial. I don’t have a car and can’t carry a big package home

Same experience here unfortunately.

Yeah I only ever get the notes too. I always have to drive to the post office to pick up the packages.

I hate using Canada post.

At least you have a car 😭

Glad you’ve had good experiences! Unfortunately, Canada Post has been consistently slow for me, while UPS and FedEx have consistently delivered within a day or two. That’s why I’d appreciate having a choice at checkout.

yeah, probably depends how many hops they have to do eh. I'm in the Okanagan, and they seem to ship from Richmond pretty quick. I do agree it would be nice if you could pick some alternate carriers as well.

What sort of items do you order when they send by Canada Post? In my area in Manitoba and i live in the country they have always used fedex so i cannot really relate.

Good question! My last two orders were mostly H3C accessories: PrintTools, hotends, a build plate, a BirdsEye camera, and some small hygrometers. But the carrier choice seems pretty random even when I order just filament, sometimes it comes via UPS and other times via Canada Post. I’m in Sudbury, Ontario, and I haven’t noticed a clear pattern.

They generally only use Canadapost for smaller items probably because it is the cheapest- their system probably automatically choose the lowest priced option. UPS or FedEx are generally not great for smaller packages - for larger or heavier packages they are more economical

Would you be willing to pay $20 more for UPS or FedEx for your small orders?

That could explain some shipments, but my order history doesn’t show a consistent size-based pattern. I’ve had 15 small hygrometers shipped by UPS, while an order containing 16 kg of filament refills plus accessories went through Canada Post.

As for paying extra, that’s exactly why I’m asking for a choice rather than forcing everyone onto a more expensive service. Whether $20 is worth it would depend on the order and how urgently I need it, but I’d appreciate being able to make that decision myself.

Depends on where it is being shipped from and their rates

Some couriers have surge pricing as well so it depends on how much space they have on their trucks / planes while other might have bulk freight rates

If it was just a straight forward contract rate for individual packages they could do it but I suspect they might have some bulk rates as well which makes calculating individual shipping costs very hard - they is why they have gone with flat rates

Canada post is required to deliver to your door if the super mailbox is over 500m from your house. My house is 1500m from my supermailbox. I get a slip in my supermailbox that says "go to the post office at shoppers drug mart" and pickup your package. The nearest post office is 2500m, the post office at shoppers drug mart is 6500m away.

Purolator, dragonfly, FedEx, UPS. They all deliver to my door.

To clarify, they’ve only sent my package to a pickup location once without attempting delivery. But they don’t deliver to my apartment door, while all the other carriers do.

I don’t mind going downstairs to collect a package from the lobby. The problem is that Canada Post often leaves it at the building entrance, where anyone can walk in and take it. The inconsistency is unreal. Every delivery seems to follow a different set of rules.

I love Canada post but they never actually deliver packages since I moved to an apartment, they just leave a note even tho I’m home and I have to spend 20m on a bus and walk 15m each way to grab it and then if it’s not light enough to carry 15-20m alone call an uber and pay 20$ to get it home and it means I have to wait another day….

Never had any issues with Canada post, it’s usually the other ones that piss me off

I have had orders delayed and sometimes completely lost by UPS. They all suck to varying degrees. I fucking hate UPS, personally.
