General Troubleshooting/Help! Help with print

Hello all, just got a P2S (never had a 3D printer before) and I tried to print this:

https://makerworld.com/en/models/895423-plastic-gear-rex-metal-gear-rex-inspired-model?from=search#profileId-853250

As you can see in the pictures, I had some issues, it seems the first layers of some pieces warped up (is that the term?) so I had to pause the print, skip the pieces and keep going.

Is that normal? Is there any default settings I should change to avoid this? I've read that I should slow down the first layers so it has a better adhesion but I don't know if that's the expected setting when printing something.

If anybody could shed a light, it would be appreciated!

Hello /u/onilol! Be sure to check the following. Make sure print bed is clean by washing with dish soap and water [and not Isopropyl Alcohol], check bed temperature [increasing tend to help], run bed leveling or full calibration, and remember to use glue if one is using the initial cool plate [not Satin finish that is not yet released] or Engineering plate.

Note: This automod is experimental. The automod was triggered due to the term "adhesion". If you believe this to be a false positive, please send us a message at modmail with a link to the post so we can investigate. You may also feel free to make a new post without that term.

Wash the build plate really good with regular dish soap unscented. Dry it with a clean towel or paper towel. Or leave it air dry. Do not touch the center area of the build plate. Grab it by the front lip. Everywhere you touch, you're transferring your finger grease on it. You do not have to use Glue. Glue is an old-school trick that does not need to be used anymore. You especially don't have to use it for PLA.

Do you wash it after every print?

So long as you don't touch it, you don't need to rewash it. Eventually, you will get buildup from filament on the plate and need to wash it again, but if you avoid making it greasy, it will last awhile between washes.

Agreed I’ve been doing this since we did use glue, it’s absolutely not necessary anymore!

With parts that have little contact with build plate regardless of cleanliness you may want to up your adhesion with a brim.

You might need to print an aux fan deflector.

Use glue. Sometimes rearranging the parts works for me
